Why Didn’t I Put This on My List?

What a coincidence. I was just over at Karen’s 3 Garnets & 2 Sapphires blog reading about Dragon Naturally Speaking and their discount of a $50 Coupon Code- DNSMSBG -Dragon NaturallySpeaking 10 Preferred and thinking, “Why didn’t I put this on my list?” Every time I’ve seen it I’ve thought that I’d love to give it a try. Then I came back and was writing up my thank you posts to discover that I too had the chance to review this software again and share with you a great set of discounts that are valid until the end of the year. Maybe you are like me and frequently get cash for the holidays. If so, you could put it to use and look at the Dragon Naturally Speaking software.

Dragon Naturally Speaking 10 Basic with Discount Coupon Code

Karen talked about how great it would be for her husband while he plays video games and for her blogging. I have to agree that I’d love to see it at work on a blog. I tend to create a lot of worksheets and such for my classes also, and I’d love to try it for that also.

My dad was just mentioning that he could use a couple more tax write-offs for his business today..I wonder if I could convince him that his business needs this software? Hmmm….I wonder….

Between now and the end of the year, Dragon Naturally Speaking is offering the following discounts.  If this is something you’ve been thinking about, you might want to go check it out before December 31.

Still Searching for Computer Protection

With my current protection soon to expire, I’m still searching (remember I mentioned this yesterday?).  Today I found another site for discount software that I’m considering called Software Supply Group.  They have great deals on not only virus protection, but I also need to purchase Office for Cameron’s computer and they have a pretty good deal on Microsoft Office 2003 Pro.    I thought one intestesting thing with Software Supply Group besides their prices was that they have a software blog.  How many companies can say that?  I’ve not noticed any lately.  I’m still undecided on what virus protection I want, but if I go with something that Software Supply Group sales, I will probably buy from them so that I can go ahead and pick up some other software too while I’m at it.  I’ve never heard of them though and would love to hear opinions from past customers if you are out there.

An Off Topic Moment

Yes…I have a pretty random blog, but beware this one is a totally off topic one, but I found it interesting so maybe some of you out there in my cyber world will also (If not, please feel free to skip right over it and you’ll see my more typical posts).

For the last little bit I’ve been reading about CFD software. Weird? Maybe. But I tend to get sidetracked and for somer reason this caught my eye long enough to get me to read the Flomerics website and find out a little about it.  I think I stumbled upon it when trying to search for the boating stuff mentioned previously (though obviously I placed the wrong search engine words in my search.  :) ) Flomerics, it seems is quite proud because they have shown how their CFD ( Computational Fluid Dynamics) software can be used to to analyze how air flow affects wingsuits worn by base jumpers though it is typically used to predict 3D airflow, heat transfer and contamination distribution in and around buildings of all types and sizes.

yep…It’s 2:30 am here and I’m heading to bed because this caught my attention and I even found it so interesting that I’m sharing it with you!  :)

Starting Your Own Business

A friend of mine is a licensed beautician but just moved to this area and is contemplating opening her own salon. She does not use the Internet very often so I have been doing some research for her and found a  pretty interesting website that I’ve sent to her, but just in case there’s anyone else out there thinking of going into business for themselves in the beauty industry – it is a website that sells products to help you run your salon efficiently – Milano. It provides salon software and spa software that keeps up with your appointments for as many rooms, beds, or stations as you have. It also manages credit card and gift card payments in addition to cash/check payments. One final feature that I find really neat is that it enables clients to book appointments online. This gives your customers 24/7 access to your buiness. As a busy mom, I would LOVE to have this option.

Being able to start your business organized is a great advantage and increases your likelihood of being successful in the long run. This is where Milano comes into play. Milano gives you the head start you need to be productive from the beginning. Being organized not only takes the stress off of you, but it will impress your customers increasing the chances that they will come back for repeat service.

A Fun Website – Free Software

In my browsing the web and looking for anything and everything today I found a really fun website that I thought many of you may like – Giveaway of the Day. This website gives away one piece of software a day.  This software is only free for that 24 hours (it’s not just your typical freeware).  How awesome is that?

Today’s software was not really of any use for me and so I didn’t download it (business card software), but I looked over the last few days software choices and found some really neat selections. For example, with my aging computer (and both of the girls’), I think that Wise Registry Cleaner 3 Pro would have been nice to have, and I think Becka would have enjoyed the download for Youtube Music Downloader.  I’ve bookmarked this site and hope to remember to check it out daily. I recommend you do too.
