It’s Time to Confess Shoppers

Alright ladies. I know some of you out there must LOVE to shop (whether it be in brick and mortar stores or online shopping) and now that could just pay off for you.  Do you have an interesting shopping story to “confess” to eBillme?  If so, enter their contest and win you some great prizes.  You can enter via text or video, and a winner is selected each month for some awesome prizes.

So how does it work? Well first you must sign up at Shopping Confessions. Then you decide if you want to enter with a video (that you’ll upload to YouTube) or with a text confession.  After that this is how it works for each one.

Video Submissions must be at least 30 seconds (that’s NOT long at all ladies) and no more than 600 seconds, you must use some certain keywords related to eBillme in your video, and you have to upload it to the appropriate place in YouTube.   Then you’ll login and post the URL to your video.  How simple is that?

If you are creating a text submission (this is my choice as I lack the creativity for videos), all you have to do is write your confession including the same keyterms required in the video and post your entry in the Contest Entry forum of the Shopping Confessions website. Another simple way to enter.

Head over to Shopping Confessions from eBillme and let them know of a shopping story you have to tell.  Be sure to tell them Kimberly from AllAboutKimberly sent you too.

CBS Early Show Mega Deals

Ever watch the CBS Early Show? I’m not a regular viewer, but I’m proud to tell you about these awesome Kmart sales that they recently talked about.  In fact these sales are so great, that Kmart can’t actually publish all the prices on their site.  To find out, you have to add the items to your cart. When you do this, obviously, you’ll see the price of the items.  You know when there’s a limit on something or the price is so slow that it can’t be published, that there are some awesome deals.  This Kmart sale is no exception.

A couple of the deals are:

  • - Women’s Kimono Wrap Sweater Extra 10% off online only (search ID# 70198911)
  • - Abbey Hill bedding Medallion Dream bedding collection – Extra 30% online only (search ID# 96096112)
  • - 1/4ct tw Diamond 5-Stone Journey Pendant and Earrings Set in 10K Yellow Gold with Extra 10% off online only (search ID# 89270115)
While these are some of the best deals, they aren’t nearly all.  In addition to these special sales (so low you have to check prices in the shopping cart), there are many other categories that you can receive 10% off throughout the month of December.  These categories include:
  • - womens plus sleepwear
  • - womens attention brand
  • - girls tops
  • - ALL juniors
  • - boys tops
  • - mens shirts and bottoms
  • - big mens shirts and bottoms
  • - infant and toddler bedding
I have to admit that there are some other stores that tend to be more convenient for me so I’ve done little shopping at Kmart in the past, but after having these opportunities to blog to you about all of the sales and positive steps Kmart is taking in helping us spread our dollars and provide our children with a Merry Christmas, I’m going to start going out of my way to stop in (and do some online shopping!).
Tip:  As you browse the Kmart website from now until Christmas, keep your eyee out for hidden ornaments through out the site. They will provide you with extra savings via a special coupon code.

Black Friday – Before Thanksgiving?

As I was going through our daily paper today, I noticed a Sears ad.  I actually need a few things from Sears and have some gifts in mind for my dad and brother in law that I’ll probably order from Sears so I went ahead and flipped through it.  I was amazed to see that Saturday they are having an early morning, wee hours, sale just like I am used to shopping on the Friday after Thanksgiving – Black Friday.  How exciting is that for us bargain shoppers? Then as I move around the web tonight to some of my regular sites, I am given the opportunity to come and tell you about these amazing deals.  (Seemed like fate to me so I jumped on this one)

If you are ready to do some shopping, whether it be Christmas gifts or major home purchases, check out the sales at Sears Super Saturday Sale, Saturday November 22nd and you may just want to rise early and be there bright and early Saturday morning to get the best deals (and be sure they don’t sale out) because this sale will only be good on November 22nd, and Sears will not be issuing any rainchecks. It will be first come, first serve (just like on Black Friday).

A couple of the sales that really cayght my eye were the Craftsman C3 19.2-volt 3-pc combo tool kit and the outerwear and sweaters will be 60% off.    We are really in need of new jackets and coats for this year as I’ve not bought myself one in several years (and of course Cameron outgrows hers so quickly).

Not Just Sears

Sears is not the only store that you can begin your Christmas shopping now and put those items on layaway until your budget allows you to pay for them, Kmart is offering a great layaway program also.  While, I’ve completed most of my shopping, I still have a few of those big ticket items to pick up, and being able to spread out the payments on them through Kmart Layaway could be a great advantage. After going through and doing your shopping at a local Kmart, you have to option of taking them to the layaway counter, making a downpayment and then making payments every two weeks until you’ve paid off your purchase.

One item I still have left to purchase or a variety of games (Wii and DS) and movies for stocking stuffers.  These tend to become harder to come by as selection become slim closer and closer to the holiday so I’m thinking this might be the perfect way to be sure I am able to buy the games/videos I want and not have to hide them around the house between now and Christmas. While I know the financial advantage is there for those who need to spread out their spending, I also like being able to have my items picked out and almost paid for and leaving a small balance just so I don’t have to find a place to store all of our gifts until they go under the tree Christmas eve night.

If you need to spread out payments (or a secure place to store items), check out Kmart for some great deals and take advantage of the layaway department. Click Here

Sears Continues to Please

I was really pleased last week when I discovered that Sears goes out of their way to support our military by offering members of the reserve that are called to duty and employed by Sears some great benefits.  Today I was given the opportunity to share with you another positive feature of Sears – Layaway!  With the economy in such woe, being able to buy Christmas and budget for it, is a great advantage.  As more and more stores are removing their layaway departments, Sears is stepping forward and reviving the Sears Layaway Department for the holiday season.  After finding the items you’d like for your holiday or the items you’d like to buy to make another person’s wishes come true, you can simply take them to a Sears associate and state “this holiday, I want my wishes on layway!”  How awesome is that?

While I now get my “bonus” in November so I can complete my shopping earlier, I used to receive it in mid December which made last minute Christmas shopping a nightmare.   Having an advantage of layaway was really important then.  This year if I was to take advantage of layaway, I’d probably purchase winter clothes for Cameron (I love the Sears clothing policy) and tools for the men in my life.   My dad has always stressed the importance of not throwing away money on “junk tools” and buying Sears Craftsman tools.

If you’re ready to start Christmas shopping, but your pocketbook isn’t, go check out the new Sears Layaway Department where you only have to put down 20% or $15 (whichever is greater), and you have until December 23rd to make your final payment and pick up your items.
