A Financial Challenge

Two of my friends, Catherine over at The Blonde Diaries and Janet over at The Book Nook, have issued me a challenge. The two of them have set a goal to earn $10 a day outside of their jobs (mostly that’s going to mean online). They’ve now issued that challenge to me to join them. At first I was frightened. How would I earn $10 a day. But then I got to thinking about how many different opportunties I have to make money online and decided if I was focused that this is actually a realistic goal. It won’t be easy, but if it was then it wouldn’t be a “challenge” right? But I decided to start the challenge today. Then I was busy ALL DAY and didn’t get online until 8 this evening so I was worried. But I’ve scrounged and done it. I’m going to be reporting in here so that I’m held accountable to you, my readers, and will try to stick to this. If you don’t get a report for a couple days, PLEASE ask me so that I can report in even if I’m behind. I’m counting on YOU to keep me on track. I’m also going to keep a going tally on a separate page so check it out up top.

Here’s today’s report:

  • Blogging – $29.10
    • (these were previous posts but they were approved today. That’s when I’m going to post blogging money, when the posts are actually approved so I know the money is coming)
    • (didn’t do much today, but I’m about to get my butt in gear over here)
  • Project Wonderful – $.06

Today’s Total: $29.18 (Yea!!)

It’s Planning Time

As a teacher, I wish I could say that June, July, and August are my downtime, but in fact they aren’t. They are just a time where I shift my focus (slightly).  Actually I’ll still spend a good bit of time each day on school (planning next year and tutoring my daughter).  There’s also vacations to plan and a birthday for Cameron. She’ll turn 8 this year. Summer is also the time I try out all the new recipes I’ve gathered in the last nine months to see which ones we like and want to add into a regular rotation at our house. Oh, and summer is also when I do my wise shopping. See during the school year, I simply do not have time to clip coupons and watch sale papers, etc. I would love to do so, and I usually have good intentions, but by October, I’ll have given up completely. But today I went out and did some wise coupon shopping, and I’ve continued my wise shopping by picking up some cheap address labels from Vista Print.

I love Vista Print because I can almost take care of all of my printing needs with them. I’ve ordered multiple sets of birthday party invitations and even custom Christmas cards one year where I scanned in a picture drawn by Cameron. I’ve ordered a Tshirt for my mom for her birthday, a hat with my dad’s business logo on it for him for Father’s day, custom calendars with our Disney vacation pictures on each month. Seriously, you name it, I’ve ordered it from Vista Print. Best of all, if you watch their site regularly, not only do they have great prices, they are constantly running awesome sales, and sometimes you can even try out some of their products for free.

But back to the topic at hand. Today I ordered some address labels with our new address (that we got this time last year) as I had never ordered any and finally ran out of the ones with our old address on them. If you are part of a rewards program, be sure to check there before ordering. I know with my favorite rewards program, not only do I get to take advantage of the super prices and deal that Vista Print already offers, but I also get a percent back.
