Congrats & Let’s Get Fit

Congratulations to Hedy @penny for my thoughts for winning our Clost Purse Organizers giveaway.  Send me your contact info, and I’ll forward it to the sponsor!

Next up today – Getting Fit.  I mentioned that I have a new review site right? Well today I posted the site’s first giveaway – a set of Sane Fitness Preggers.  If you are pregnant, think you’ll one day be pregnant, know someone that is pregnant, or know someone that might be pregnant one day (okay, does that cover everyone?), then you need to head ove to Southern Girl Reviews and enter to win this great kit.  You won’t be disappointed!

Also, it’s time (well past time) to announce the winners over at A Novel Mind and start listing another week of contests so be sure to head over there to see that news soon.  I’m going to pull winners now!!

MIA

Yes, I know. I’ve been MIA for the week. Every time I think life is back on track – there is another snafu – life turning busy, technological problems, you name it – I seem to have experienced it lately.  I “think” things will get better now. Life will still be busy of course (it it ever any other way?), but it will be normal busy and not super busy!

We had our district contest for our academic events this past week and did very good. Our students brought home many awards.

Technological Problems – Yes, I’ve had those too this week.

Creating a new Site – Yep, I’ve been slightly distracted too, but I’ve taken the time that I couldn’t be online to do some true blogging soul searching and decided that I need focus.  I don’t like having this one blog that covers so many topics. I don’t survive as well with no focus.  So I’m breaking off into multiple blogs. I’m a little nervous about trying to maintain multiple blogs, but ultimately, I think I’ll do better having a place (here) to keep focused on the personal life – talking about work and family, sharing with you more and more about me through weekly memes.  You already know about my new book blog – A Novel Mind. Next I’m moving future reviews (and hopefully one day contests) to a separate site – Southern Girl Reviews.

Speaking of contests, I have winners to draw here and at A Novel Mind – I know.  Look for winners on both sites listed tomorrow!  Good luck everyone (and hint, hint…if you haven’t entered, I haven’t closed them to comments yet).

Bella Sara Package

One of the first products we received to review was a package of Bella Sara cards, and though we’d never heard of them, they were an instant success with Cameron.  She loved collecting the cards and really loved the website.

When I discovered that Team Mom was sending us a new set of Bella Sara products, I kept it a secret so that Cameron would be super surprised.  Check out the great assortment of Bella Sara products we received:

I saved them and gave them to Cameron on a day when she had to stay at school late with me so she would have something new to play with while she waited on me, and she had such a blast.

We received 2 miniature figurines of Bella Sara horses and 2 packages of Treasures trading cards that also included stickers and temporary tattoos.  In the past we had only seen the plain trading cards so this was a real treat for Cameron.

If you’ve not seen the Bella Sara cards, they are kind of like Pokemon cards (remember those?).  You buy a set of  trading cards and trade them with your friends to have the exact horses you want.  However of course, now that the Internet is common in every home, these cards go a step further than Pokemon did. Girls create accounts at www.bellasara.com and put the codes on each card into their account to see their horses come alive. I’ve not played on the site much, but I’ve watched Cameron play it, and it’s quite interesting.  Last night I watched her clean out one of the horses stalls.

I’ve received a few different products since starting this transition into reviews and giveaways, but the Bella Sara cards may be my top recommendation.  They are such a reasonable price. The packages we’ve bought have come in 5 card packs, and the most I’ve seen a package cost is $3.95.  They make great small rewards for doing great on a test or doing chores without being asked.

If your daughter (or granddaughter, niece, or sister) begins to love this fun game as much as Cameron, you’ll be interested to know that you can also buy a Bella Sara DS Game (this was in our stocking this year along with 3 packs of  trading cards).  I even found puzzles at our local Wal-Mart before Christmas, and today I found a Bella Sara scrapbook kit.

This looks like it may be something on its way up – will be something that every little girl wants – so if you have little girls in your family, pick up a package and see if they take to them as much as Cameron did.

Yes, I’ve Been Missing

I took a few days off from blogging.  I didn’t really mean to. It just happened.  My brother’s time home is coming to an end and then there was Thanksgiving with family so I just haven’t spent much time on the computer the last few days…While I think the time away was good for my family, but now I’m behind on blogging.  I did get an idea though – I have several reviews to write up and post so I’m thinking of making next week a  celebration – A week of Reviews….what do you think?  A couple of the reviews have sponsored contests so it could be a real blast I think……I’m going to do some planning today and tomorrow to see if I can get it pulled off.  Come back and see because there will be prizes involved if I can get the logistics worked out this late of notice.
