Bush Speaks of Economic Woes
After watching President Bush’s latest speech, I have been struck by just how bad it is. Yes sometimes we live in our own worlds. Overall we’re lucky. We’ve made a few changes here and there, but overall, we’ve not had to do that much with the changes in the economy. We’re lucky that my house and property are paid for – no hidden fees. No concern with interest rates. With my car loan now paid off, I’m working on that old personal loans and credit cards, but overall, I’m still just going a little here and there.
But many aren’t so lucky and for those people, making ends meet is getting harder and harder. Watching the President and the newscasters that followed, it’s easy to see why many are needing to combine some of their loans and find other solutions to their financial problems such as payday loans just to put food on their tables. Our local news station is doing a series on living off of limited checks and food sources such as social security and food stamps. Select reporters are limiting theirselves to only spending the money that some of our less fortunate have. It’s really enlightening to watch, and really frightening. How long until these worries start hitting closer to home? I know that I’m going to get more serious about building up a savings – a definite weakness of mine. What changes are you making in your homes?
Economic Woes & Personal Loans
As gas and utility prices continue to rise, I’ve hearing more and more stories of people realizing that while they used to have the ability to live paycheck to paycheck, they are now in over their head and need help. For some their are lots of options, but for others they are struggling and one of the only ways they can get ahead (or even just on track) are small personal loans of some sort. There are many different types of loans including payday loans. I’m seeing more and more of these popping up in our area and on the Internet. Personal Loans Leader is one such place that offers many different types of loans to their customers. Good credit, bad credit? They have a solution for almost everyone.
Sometimes You Just Need A Personal Loan
I just got back from my grandparents house. You may recall that their house burned down in May. We finally have them back in a wonderful home, and they are so proud. My mom gave them a years worth of DirecTV for their anniversary (it was yesterday), but they needed some televisions. I had 2 small ones in storage so I went by this morning to drop one off. My grandmother and I got to talking about how great the house was, but a few things she’d like to go ahead and do to spruce it up a little more – before they are so settled in that they never do it; however, money is just a little short right now. She was thinking of maybe picking up a small personal loan so she could complete these home improvement projects. I told her I don’t know much about them, but I felt like she could get a better deal if we looked online. So I came home to do some preliminary research for her and found Personal Loans Nationwide available at PersonalLoansMania.com. Their website says they accept all types of credit and your request is processed quickly – both important to my grandmother as she has less than perfect credit and needs the money soon. This looks like a winner. I’ll be continuing my research and seeing how this process works before calling her over to look at it, but it looks like online will be the way to go.
Payday Loans – How Do They Work?
My grandparents are getting ready for the move in to their new home (you may remember me posting about their house burning down back in May), and of course there are so many small expenses other than the house itself so the expenses add up really fast. My grandmother was telling us that she was considering a payday loan if they ran short as we set the house up. I’ve heard of payday loans, but really didn’t know how they work. So last night I sat and did a little research about payday and loans. There are many online and brick and mortar places out there including Pay Day Loans Mania. They advertise that no credit check is required, and you have your money in no time. I have to admit that I find the way these loans work interesting. While I have no need for them, and we’ve already assured my grandmother, she won’t be taking out any loans and we’ll make sure they have what they need, I still would love to hear some real evaluations from people who have taken out a payday loan.
The Floor Plans Complete
If you’ve been following this blog, you know that I’ve been torn between house shopping and a house addition. I pretty much have decided on an addition (it would take a REALLY good deal on the perfect house to change my mind) so this weekend, we finished with the floor plan. I’m excited because this makes us one step closer. Now mind you, I will not be getting a bonus check until mid-June so we will not start until then when I see if and how much I’ll receive, but even if it doesn’t happen this summer and it takes a little longer (my car will soon be paid off and I plan to put at least half of that into the house each month anyways), it’s nice to know that I’ve pretty much settled on the additions. The additions will more than double the size of my existing house, and we’ve designed it in a three step process so that each step is independent of the rest, and I can avoid banks or mortgage lenders and just do what I can afford as I can afford it. This is important to me as I’m also wanting to become debt free within the next couple years. So I thought I’d share this one next step with you guys. Our next step will be going to Lowe’s or Home Depot and beginning a materials list for phase one so that we can determine how much we must spend to start the project. (cross your fingers for me that this amount and the amount of my bonus are similiar)
