Ike Problems Not Close To Resolved

So I have to spend today on the phone with my car insurance salesman because an adjuster still hasn’t contacted me concerning the damage to my car.  Tuesday it rained and because there is no a big gap between the top of my car and the sunroof, it rained IN MY CAR!!!  Yep, not only does the outside need replacing now, the inside roof fabric will have to be replaced as it now has MAJOR water stains.  I simply don’t understand the delay.  I have used a local insurance company for years (since my first car) as I liked dealing with a person – not the Internet, but I’m honestly considering going elsewhere after this is all resolved.  This is INSANE!  Yep…It’s a great Thursday.

Post Ike

After Ike has caused so much destruction across south Texas, we’ve been watching the damage closely online and on the television.  One of the topics of our conversations has been that even if someone’s house is still there, it will likely be condemed by their local government as totally ruined. If not condemned they will need serious help though with water restoration for black mold removal. If this is not done carefully, black mold can become very dangerousl  It’s definitly not something you’d want to chance being behind your walls or growing as you move back into your water damaged home.  I was clueless at what this involved as we’ve never had any type of damage like this and found this great website with information – Water Restoration 911.  It’s actually quite scary the harms of not taking care of these issues, isn’t it?  I’m totatlly freaked out now.

Two More Days of Relaxation

Just got a phone call and we’ll be off for two more days.  Apparently we still have water issues and they are predicting that it will take the weekend to clear up the water so they went ahead and made the call that we won’t have school until Monday. We got off last Friday and the entire week this week.  I would never wish for the destruction that Ike caused – not even on my worst enemy, but I am happy to be enjoying this week off. I’ve gotten so much work done around the house this week and done some research for this blog.  It’s been nice.  I could stand going three weeks and getting a week off.  I think we ought to just convert to this schedule.  :)
