It’s seemed like I just couldn’t get anything done lately. After getting the flu a while back, it took me forever to really recover. A touch of fever hung on for a few days, the cough stuck around forever it seemed, and then there was the exhaustion. It seemed like no matter what I did, it was not enough. It didn’t matter if I got enough sleep, I was still tired. Took vitamins – it didn’t do any good. Changed my diet – didn’t help. Wanted to drink more water and less caffeine especially, replaced my water filter in the refrigerator with a more efficient model – the ukf7003axx. Not sure if it is the water, continuing the vitamins, or just the fact that time has passed, but I’m starting to finally feel like myself again so hopefully you’ll see more of me here and my other blogs.

Continuing the Health Kick
I’ve done it – gone two weeks now of working out at least 6 days a week, and I’m starting to feel better. I’m not so sure I’m losing weight or inches yet, but I’ve got a little more energy. That’s a wonderful feeling. I am going to try to pick up the pace of the work out this week as I’ve now got these 2 weeks going, I think maybe I have the habit started…not it’s time to work on intensity so that I start burning more calories.
I went by the health store about a month ago and looked at nutritional health supplements thinking maybe being tired all the time was because I was lacking some vitamin or something, but it looks like the exercise is going to do it.
Wish me luck as I pick up the pace this week!
Getting Serious
I almost forgot to tell you that my just making small changes to work on weight/health is over, and I’m now getting serious.
Like I mentioned earlier things are starting to slow down here so I’m moving my focus to exercising. I’ve actually enlisted a few students and one teacher, and we are all working after school every day. That will be 5 days a week of exercising. We started today. I’m going to also start adding in some personal exercising with the Wii Fit again to up the calories just a little. I’ve also decided to not eat in our cafeteria much for the rest of the year. I’ll be back to Special K lunches and Chicken Noodle lunches – low calories. Yep, the new focus – getting healthy and needing those life insurance leads I mentioned earlier. So wish me luck and watch for my posts about my progress.
Think Thin Thursday on Friday

Yes, I know I’m a day late on my Think Thin post, but I wanted to be sure to get back in the habit before I start letting my habits slip like my weekly posts have. I was relieved when I went to check in with Bridgette to find that she had not been posting (so maybe i wasn’t missed?). I have been working hard at watching the diet, drinking the water, and only 3 days of exercise still, but I’m sticking with those 3 days. My life will take a big notch down next week so I plan to try to pick up the exercise goals after this week. I’ve been think of buying a treadmill so that I can put a little more variety in my exercise, but I’m not sure since it’s getting warmer and I’ll be able to walk outside soon. So to sum up my progress lately – I’m sticking to the plan, not a lot, nothing great, but I’m staying on track with plans to pick up the pace after one mroe week.
Targeted Messages
How does it seem that those powers that be that send us junk mail (email and the mail in my post office box), the commercials on TV, everyone seems to know I’m struggling to lose weight. I have to do something. I honestly don’t think I weighed this much at 9 months pregnant…if I did, I’m about at what I weighed. I’m eating my Special K twice a day, I’m eating smaller portions at dinner. Even when we’ve gone out to eat, I’ve tried to make healthier decisions. One tip I read somewhere was to go ahead and decide when you plate arrives how much you’re going to eat and put the rest in the to go box. I did that last night to no avail. The pounds are sticking with me, *sigh* and the adverisements for every diet pill and miracle in the world are bombarding me (the latest was for Ephedrasil Hardcore). I’ve never heard of most of these and the few I’ve looked into are always full of warnings. Why was it so easy to add these pounds on, but so impossible to take them off! UGH!!
On a positive note, I do plan to continue my Special K diet this next week, but I also plan to add in exercise. I think I’m going to try to get Cameron to walk with me. I was worried about being able to walk fast enough for it to be exercise for me and her keep up, but she came home Thursday tickled pink that she had run a mile without any walking breaks in 7:49 that day in PE. I think she can keep up, and I have a walking buddy. :)
