Miley Cyrus “Breakout”

Miley Cyrus’s third CD will be released July 22. This will be the first CD to be a simply “Miley” cd - not tied to Hannah Montana. The first single from the CD “7 Things” is already hitting the airwaves. Cyrus makes bigs moves with this CD. Like I said she not only is releasing this only as “Miley,” she’s also featuring music she co-writes on the CD (including “7 Things”).  If you’d like to hear a preview of the song, check out the video below.

Miley Cyrus & Vanity Fair Photographs

The big news this morning is that Miley Cyrus is embarrased by the photographs of her appearing in an upcoming edition of Vanity Fair. Mileys says she expected a much more artistic outcome and sees these photographs as being more provocative than she imagined. Vanity Fair though is defending the pictures saying that Miley’s parents were both onset during the entire shoot, and no one ever appeared to be concerned at all.  After viewing the pictures, I have to say from an adult perspective I do not see them as being all that bad, but I do have a problem – Miley fans do not tend to be adults – they are children. And I do think they are inappropriate for my 7 year old fan to see. We have picked up a variety of magazines that aren’t necessarily geared toward children in the last year or so when they feature this young pop star as my daughter does enjoy looking through the pictures and reading the articles together, but I can assure you we will not be purchasing this issue of Vanity Fair.

I am proud though that Miley and family are making sure that the public knows immediately that they are not happy with the photography. It’s reassuring in a day when we hear of so many celebrities wild antics and sentences to drug treatment facilities, that the biggest problem this young girl has is professionally shot photography that while is not appropriate for her audience, the photos are not that bad.

Expect to read a summary and our opinions here. :)

‘Hannah Montana’ Ticket Software Bill

Hannah Montana’s last concert tour The Best of Both Worlds caused lots of conflict and ugliness concerning ticket sales. It seemed no one was prepared for the number of fans Miley had and tickets sold lightening fast disappointing lots of families. In fact I was one of those people logged into Ticketmaster 10 minutes early. Refreshing my page every minute just waiting on them to be released and was still not able to land a set of tickets.  It appears Minnesota is fighting back. They are close to outlawing ticket-buying software that moves users to the front of the Internet line to grab seats for popular events. Anyone know what this software is called and how you get it? I didn’t even know such software existed, but that would explain a lot, and I would think be unfair. Apparently this software is what caused many of us honest fans to not be able to buy tickets outright. Says that resellers were using this software and then charging an arm and a leg for the tickets they had purchased. Way to go Minnesota and good luck in passing and finding a way to enforce this law.
