Graduation Presents

I have a few more graduation presents to buy and I’m looking for ideas.  I bought most of the girls on my list jewelry, but there are a couple tom boys on my list that I still am clueless about. I don’t like to give money, but find special gifts that they will keep forever and have something special to always treasure.  I know a good friend that buys towels, but those don’t last.  I’ve research other ideas, but they are all things that will be used up in a short time – not a lasting gift.

Another gift I always buy is the book Oh! The Places You’ll Go by Dr. Seuss. I love to buy this and include a special note on the inside cover from me.

Ideas?

Cameron & The Unicorn

One of the best gifts (and one of the cheapest) that I gave Cameron this year was one of Frecklebox’s personalized books for children. And I feel so excited that I did so.  It was an awesome gift that Cameron truly enjoyed.  She has carried it around and shown everyone. She is so proud of it.  The book is called, “Cameron and the Unicorn,” and it is the story of Cameron meeting a unicorn and spending the day with her.  I think this has made such a great gift that I plan to return to Frecklebox and buy future personalized gifts such as personalized coloring books or growth charts for other children in our family and friends.

Not only is Cameron a part of the story (you can see the first page in the slideshow below), but FreckleBox also used her name in so many creative ways throughout the story – in clouds and a rainbow, on a berry bush. I mean really, they chose so many neat ways to include her in the story. The first time she read it, it was so fun to watch her eyes light up and she’d exclaim about seeing her name.  Then she’d just rub her finger over each time her name was used in the graphics. It’s amazing.  The only thing I was disappointed about (now not when I actually received it) is that it’s soft back, and she loves it so much that it’s looking worn out already.  It would be nice to have the same book but in hard back.

Check out the slideshow below to see just a few of the awesome pages in Cameron and the Unicorn.

Thank You

Michelle of Life in a Whirlwind for this lovely gift.

We had a Christmas exchange over on MomDot and Michelle got my name and sent this lovely Christmas decoration that became the centerpiece of my dining room table.  At first glance it simply looks like a basic present sitting on the table. In fact my mom stopped by today and went, “Wow! Who wrapped that?” (yes, I was insulted that she didn’t think I wrapped it…lol).  Then I showed her the little button (look close at the bottom of the top picture and you can see it) and pushed it.  Then the present opened up and started playing Christmas carols.  When it’s open you can see the tree that lights up and the Disney princesses that dance around.  My family LOVES it Michelle.  Thank you so much.

Still Looking for Father’s Day Presents

Today is the last day of school (yea!) so it’s time to really focus and find those last Father’s Day gifts for all the fathers in my life. I’ve already started purchasing stuff, but I’ve still got a few more items I need to purchase.  I’ve been brainstorming and thinking I want to find something that they will see daily and use – a constant remember of how much we love and appreciate them. Someone at lunch yesterday suggested a piece of jewelry; however, none of the fathers in my life wear jewelry, but it did give me a great idea – maybe a watch!  So I’m looking now at IWC watches. These look to be some very nice watches that I think they will really enjoy.  I’m thinking of at least picking one of these up for my grandfather. They have some timeless looking pieces that I think really fit his personality.

I think this is my favorite:
