Sailing Along the Life of Single Parenthood

Up Early and Waiting

yea! It’s almost 24 hours to departure so I’m up early this morning waiting to checkin to our flights on Southwest!!  I’m so excited I can’t stand it. We are totally packed (except for the things we need this morning).  I’m getting the girls up about 9 and we’ll head to the bank and post office before offically heading out of town and, in our mind, starting our vacation!

Custom Disney TShirts – Part 4

Here’s another set of shirts we did. Again, these designs are courtesy of the Creative DISigners over on the DISboards.  This is our life is good series. Again, we chose our “favorite” characters for these so that while we will all match, we also hold on to our individuality.  :)   As in the past, Cameron, of course, went with Tinkerbell, and Becka with Jiminy. I followed my normal trend and went with a fab 5 character – this time Minnie Mouse.

I Got a Pin, I Got a Pin!!!!!

I got a pin code, I got a pin code!!  Not a Disney World fan? Then you may be lost, but if you are guess what?!  I got a pin code, I got a pin code!!  Oh, wait!!  It gets better – I got a pin code for our dates in August!!!  I’m so trying not to get excited right now because I’m not sure what to do next!!  I’m booked with a travel agent I don’t think I can call and see if it can really be applied to my package. I think I have to wait on her. I just forwarded her the email, but I’m on pins and needles (no pun intended) as I don’t know how long it will be until she checks her email. And then if it does, but Pop Century isn’t available, what do I do?  This is Cameron’s birthday trip and she has her heart set on Pop. And it is mine and Becka’s favorite too, but if the savings are enough to switch to another value should we try?  I don’t know!!  Wow I’ve got so much going through my head right now, and I can’t sit by the computer as Cameron and I have a date with another single mom tonight to go watch Kung Fu Panda.

It came to my old email so I don’t check it often. I’m so glad I just logged in to delete the junk mail (and that it caught my eye).  It was from Disney Destinations and has the subject, “Pack now! Summer Disney Resort offer for the XXXXXX family!” In the body it says,

Select Disney Value Resorts
$59*
per night, plus tax in a standard room for stays most nights
8/3/08–9/27/08.SAVINGS OF $23 PER NIGHT

We’re staying 6 nights so it’s almost $150. Ok. I know for some of you that’s probably not that big a deal, but for me it’s awesome!  And any money saved on Disney is AWESOME!! And then there’s just the most awesome novelty of being able to say that I had an elusive pin code for my vacation.  You Disney fans out there know that’s a SUPER thing to be able to brag about.

Okay. Well I’m trying to calm my nerves while I wait on a reply from my travel agent (HURRY TERESA).  Everyone cross your fingers for us and hope for pixie dust. I’m hoping for the best.  I’ll be sure to keep you updated.
