I’ve continued to check out tv this summer, but very few shows keep my attention like all of those in the previous season like Ugly Betty, Grey’s Anatomy, and Dancing with the Stars. Today while browsing the online news I found an interview with Julianne Hough on CMT.com where she reports that she will be giving her new singing career her full focus and has no plans to return to Dancing with the Stars. I’m sad to report this as she was one of my favorite dancers.

Will Warren Sapp Be the Next DWTS Football Star
It seems that every season, the producers of Dancing with the Stars attempt to have a professional football star in the lineup, and according to Warren Sapp, he just may be the next one. Sapp played as a defensive tackle for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Oakland Raiders. His professional career began in 1995 and continued for 13 years. It will be interesting to see if the rumors are true. Yes, Snap does have personality, but he’s also someone who was known for being very verbal (and not in a positive way) and he certainly doesn’t seem like he’d have the grace and charm of Emmit Smith and Jason Taylor. Only time will tell, but I have to admit that I’m anxiously waiting to see who will be on the next season of Dancing with the Stars.
Cheryl Burke Takes Vacation
Dancing with the Star professional has taken her first vacation in three years according to Gossip Girls. While she normally spends her summers doing Dancing with the Stars tours, this year she is focusing on her San Francisco dance studio and reportedly taking a much deserved vacation in Hawaii!! I hope she gets well rested as I look forward to seeing her next season! She always does such a good job coaching her celebrities. I think she is my all time favorite of all the professional dancers to appear on Dancing with the Stars.
Dancing with the Star Pros & Celebrities Tidbits
As I skim the online news, I thought instead of doing a larger article today, I would just kind of sum up some of the most recent Dancing with the Stars gossip….errr news.

- Karina Smirnoff and Mario Lopez who were past partners on Dancing with the Stars have called their romance over.
- Other Dancing with the Stars romances are still going strong: Derek Hough and Shannon Elizabeth (from this past season) are still a hot item making many celebrity news headlines and Mark Ballas and Cheetah Girl Sabrina Bryan are not making headlines but also still an item.
- Julianne Hough is moving up the billboard chart with record speed as she enters the country music world. Her new single is frequenly on our local radio stations, and she’s already sold over 67,000 copies of her CD. Starting tomorrow she will be touring with Brad Paisley.
- Christian de la Fuente has recovered nicely from his surgery after he injured it during last season. His new series premiered on USA this past weekend, and was pretty interesting. Check out In Plain Sight to continue seeing Christian on your television.

Who WON’T Be on Next Season’s Dancing with the Stars
I watch very little television – honestly. The TV is always on, but I rarely take the time to actually sit in front it and pay it my undivided attention, but Dancing with the Stars is one of the few shows that I do really enjoy watching every season. It’s a family event for us so I hate the down time. I hate to see a season end because I know it will be months before I see it again. I have said more than once they should just have another set of celebrities ready to go in just a few weeks at the end of the season.
Since I can’t watch Dancing with the Stars, I do regular web searches over it just to keep myself connected. I’m also anxious to see who will be on the next season of Dancing with the Stars. Apparently, one star that we won’t see is Cybill Shepherd. While she’s been quoted as saying that she’d be interested, her publicist seems to be stating otherwise. According to the publicist, Shepherd has been asked on multiple occasions, but she has too much going on to add this to her life. She currently stars on Showtime’s, The L Word, ABC’s Samantha Who, and USA’s Psych.
