Custom Disney TShirts – Part 1

Our craftiness has continued to making our own shirts. The graphics on the shirts came from the fabulous artists over on the DISboards Creative DISigns.  I actually watched and found great sales and bought us all matching t shirts over the last few months from Disney directly, but when Becka found out we would not have “our own” shirts, she was really disappointed.  I was so impressed that it mattered that much to her, that I bought us a package of white shirts each, and we are making shirts. In December, I actually spent more and bought us thicker and different colored shirts, but as I already bought us about 8 shirts each, I decided we would go more simple for this trip.

This is the first time Cameron has been able to help, and she was so great!  I was amazed. She actually did all the ironing of hers and Becka’s shirts that we did the first night (4 each).  Though she did tire out and inform me that I could do my own.  :)

Here’s my Princess showing me she could use the iron and not get burned:

The Disney Craftiness Continues

As promised, I want to show you each of our projects as they are completed and ready for our Disney vacation.  We leave home on the 6th so we are trying to work on Disney a lot right now.  :)   I just stumbled upon this luggage tag kit and thought it was the best thing since sliced bread. We’ve always made our luggage tags, but I would just print on card stock, laminate, and then use those zippy tie things to put them on the suitcases.  This was so easy though!!  If you ever want custom tags, I would recommend finding these (I found them at our local craft store, Hobby Lobby).

Custom Disney Suitcases

I have posted some pictures of our suitcase project in a previous post, but we are still working on them.  Now that we have the first few designs painted on them, we outlined them with glitter.  What do you think? Overall I’m ok with them, but not overly impressed. The spray paint was harder to manipulate than I had expected. It would sometime come out “gunky,” but Cameron is tickled pink so I guess that’s all that really matters.

Disney Planning & Crafting Continues

We are back in the swing of things. Tonight we made luggage tags, hats, tshirts, and worked soem more on Cameron’s luggage.  I’ll be posting the results over the next few days. I thought I’d start with our hats.  I started to order through VistaPrint, but I wasn’t 100% sure they would print them with anything Disney so we made our own with iron on transfers.

And The Creativity Continues

Oh yes.  I’m turning into a regular Martha Stewart.  LOL  Ok…Not even close, but I’m quite impressed at my current string of creative projects going on around this house since I am the opposite of creative and crafty. Last night we had a Tie Dye party with our friends Emily and Ava.  It was an absolute blast.  The best part is none of us had ever tie dyed so we learned together as we went.  I think the shirts turned out pretty awesome though for our first time. I’m really excited because these shirts were a lesson for me to learn the process of tie dye and later this week I plan to attempt to make Mickey Mouse tie dyed shirts!  Yep. I can’t wait. The first chance I have to go shopping, I’ll buy some last minute stuff for this that I didn’t think of last night that I now realize we need.

I plan to take pictures of the process as we make the Mickey shirts so if I remember, I’ll not only show you the final product, but the steps we took to make them.  Here are the shirts we made at the party last night. We tried to do different design techniques on each one and tried tshirts and tank tops. The red tank top is supposed to have a heart design (if you squint just right, you can see it), but my favorite one is the one in the bottom picture on the left with the diagonal stripes.
