More Crafts?

I’ve been looking at some crafts online – some stores – thinking of a new project for us to work on in all of our spare time. :) I’ve been looking at making some jewelry. I think Cameron would really enjoy making “girly” bracelets and necklaces. So after I got up this morning, I talked to Cameron about it and we snuggled up with my laptop and started looking for gemstone beads and such that we can use if we decide to undertake this project. I found the company called Beads of Cambay that look like they have really high quality products, they are gorgeous, and the prices aren’t bad either.  I’ve never done anything like this though so I’m a little nervous about undertaking this project.  I’ve not decided yet how much to commit as far as quantity to buy.  We’d have to have a large selection to make them pretty, but I don’t want too much to keep up with and store. Or to be stuck with too many beads if we make a few bracelets and then decide we don’t much like making jewelry.  The prices I’ve found at vendors like Beads of Cambay that sale wholesale gemstome beads though make me want to purchase more.  Do any of you make jewelry? Do you have any experience with making jewelry?  Where did you get your supplies?

Cheetah Countdown!!

Cameron couldn’t wait to get up this morning. In fact she wanted to stay up until midnight last night so that she could cut her first link then. Lucky for me she fell asleep before midnight. But as soon as she woke up this morning, she was begging to cut it. I had to beg for 30 more minutes of sleep. I told her we had to take her picture cutting the first link for the blog so she was ok with it after that, but she was back in 30 minutes for sure! I didn’t get one more minute of sleep!!

But thanks to the idea from Candid Carrie, we have this most awesome Cheetah Chain and the first link has been cut. Now she’s taken that first link to show our grandmother. It was so much fun watching her cut the chain. She eyeballed it this morning after we cut that first link and she has proclaimed that it isn’t going to take us long to make it to the ceiling. :)

We’ve Made The TieDye Shirts

Yes. We finally made our tie dyed Mickey shirts last night. Today (in just a few short moments) I will be rinsing and taking the rubber bands off to see thow they turned out.  I’m almost scared to do so. We worked so hard. I’ll be so disappointed if they don’t turn out. We really worked hard on them for a few days actually so it will be so disappointing if our Mickey’s aren’t well defined or something.  We tried several different designs so I’m really wanting to start rinsing them out, but I’m waiting on a delivery from Fed Ex and then we will be rinsing it out to see how it goes.  Wish me luck!

By the way – I did take pictures of as much of the process as I could (considering I was actively involved in the process) so I’ll post pictures of not only the final project, but also the process.

Oh, and so I don’t forget to say: ONLY THREE MORE DAYS TO DISNEY!!!!

Custom Disney TShirts – Part 4

Here’s another set of shirts we did. Again, these designs are courtesy of the Creative DISigners over on the DISboards.  This is our life is good series. Again, we chose our “favorite” characters for these so that while we will all match, we also hold on to our individuality.  :)   As in the past, Cameron, of course, went with Tinkerbell, and Becka with Jiminy. I followed my normal trend and went with a fab 5 character – this time Minnie Mouse.

Custom Disney TShirts – Part 3

When I found these designs over on DIS, I was so excited. I fell in love. There are actually several other designs, but these are the ones we picked for our shirts. For Cameron and Becka it was really easy. They are big fans of one particular character – Becka for Jiminy, Cameron for Tinkerbell. For me it was a big challenge, but in the end I decided to go with the main man!
