Camp Rock Getting The Push

Disney is continously finding ways to promote Camp Rock starring the Jonas Brothers. We’ve been following Disney Channel for several years now, and this is the first time I’ve noticed Disney pushing a movie so strongly. We’re excited to see Camp Rock at our house. We’re planning a summer get together for Cameron and some of her friends, but I’m also curious as to why Disney feels that this movie needs so much promotion. Will it be disappointing? You see first of all, we’ve been bombarded by Camp Rock previews and music videos for a while now, but this is normal. What makes this movie stand out as a different marketing scheme is the fact that this movie will premier on three different stations over the weekend.

On the 20th, it will premier on the Disney Channel to be followed by ABC on the 21st and ABC Family on the 22nd. That’s not even all. On the 23rd, we will be able to watch the entire movie online for 24 hours. Wow! I am pondering why Disney feels like it needs to make this transition in its marketing scheme?  It seems odd to me.

Camp Rock Soundtrack Available Tomorrow!

Joining the Camp Rock phenomen?  The Camp Rock Soundtrack will be available tomorrow.  If you are like us and planning a Camp Rock party, you’ll be excited to add this CD to your collection so the young girls in your house will be able to dance and sing along to the hits from Camp Rock before and after the movie premier Friday night.

The songs on this CD include:

  1. We Rock performed by Full Cast
  2. Play My Music performed by Jonas Brothers
  3. Gotta Find You performed by Shane
  4. Start The Party performed by Barron
  5. Who Will I Be performed by Mitchie
  6. This Is Me performed by Mitchie & Shane
  7. Hasta La Vista performed by Barron & Sander
  8. Here I Am performed by Peggy
  9. Too Cool performed by Tess
  10. Our Time Is Here (Bonus Track) performed by Mitchie & Girls
  11. 2 Stars performed by Tess
  12. What It Takes performed by Lola

I’ve quickly noticed something about this lineup – the lack of songs by the Jonas Brothers and Demi Lovato. In the previews and music videos, that’s who I’ve noticed over and over. That’s how Disney has gotten my 7 year old hooked and excited about the movie. But why do we see so few songs by these performers? Hmmm

Camp Rock Just Around the Corner

Only 22 days left before Disney’s latest made for tv movie is released. “Camp Rock” will be released to the public on the weekend of June 20th. With the promotion that is going on now, is your house as anxious to see this as my 7 year old?  If so, mark your calendars and program your DVR’s. “Camp Rock” will premier on THREE channels – the Disney Channel, ABC, and ABC Family. This will make the movie available to most US homes as virtually everyone receives one of these three channels.

If you haven’t seen the previews, “Camp Rock” is the story of a summer camp for budding rock stars. The movie stars the Jonas Brothers (whose group is called Connect Three in the movie) and Demi Lovato. Demi was only able to go to the camp by agreeing to work in the kitchen. When one of the members of Connect Three (Joe Jonas) overhears her singing one night, he makes it his mission to find that voice. Check out the Disney Channel and you will see previews and music videos from the movie on a regular basis.

The soundtrack will be released just days before the movie hits the airwaves – June 17, and the movie will be available on DVD and BluRay on August 19. The Jonas Brothers and Demi will also tour together this summer.

Meet Demi Lovato

What do Hillary Duff, Miley Cyrus, Selena Gomez, and Demi Lovato have in common? All are teen girls that Disney has latched on and promoted.  We are all probably familiar wtih Hillary Duff and Miley Cyrus aka Hannah Montana.  If you have a young girl in your home that watches the Disney Channel, you are probably familiar with Selena Gomez who has starred on “Hannah Montana” and now “Wizards of Waverly Place.” Next on Disney’s list of teen finds seems to be Demi Lovato.

Lovato has already been introducted briefly in “As the Bell Rings” on Disney Channel. She will next appear in “Camp Rock” (a Disney movie airing this summer starring The Jonas Brothers) and “Princess Protection Program.” But Disney has not stopped there, they already have Demi scheduled to be star in another upcoming series tentatively called “Mollywood.” In this series, Demi will play Molly a 15 year old girl from a small town who was chosen in a nationwide search to be on a teen comedy show. The series will focus on the comedy show and on Molly’s life.

Disney has also signed Demi Lovato to a music deal, and she will be touring with The Jonas Brothers this summer.
