RAOK
Random Acts of Kindness – You never know just what they mean to people do you? I encourage my daughters to complete these random acts of kindness. If we have two of something, share it. When Cameron outgrows toys or clothes, we pass them on for free to those we know will appreciate them. Completing random acts of kindness (RAOK) are something that are important for me to pass down to my daughters. I want for them to know how special these are to the people you pass them on to. Yesterday, we received our own random act of kindness. We went to mail some letters and packages and barely made it to the post office in time. We literally were the last customers. As we completed our transactions, the postal employee chatted and chatted with Cameron. I was so impressed. Somehow the conversation turned to Disney and from then on, Cameron was putty in her hands. She talked and talked and talked. After completing our transaction, I expected them to come around and unlock the door and let us out, but boy was I surprised. Instead, she asked Cameron if she’d ever been in the back of a post office before. Cameron shook her head and so we were took out the back way and Cameron was given a tour of the post office. She explained how they send and receive mail out the back of their office. Showed her how they stuff the post office boxes, where hte mail goes when you drop it in the boxes outside. By the time we left, Cameron was literally glowing. How could this woman have known just how exciting this was to Cameron. I heard all about it (even though I was there and witnessed it first hand! lol) the entire way home. She called ato tell my grandmother when we got home, and on the way to the movies today, she told my dad about this trip. Such a small action for this woman….something she will soon forget, made such an impact on my little girl.

I love ROAK’s. A kid at “Ferdie”‘s soccer game yesterday found a cell phone and asked people until he found the owner.
