Have you ever had something in your house that you wonder what it actually is? Or found pictures and you’re not sure exactly what or where the pictures were taken? In my case, it was a box of stuff that I was given of my grandfather’s, and while most of it I knew what and where, there were a few oddball things that I wasn’t sure what they actually were (older antiques) and some pictures that I was curious to know where they were taken. I didn’t know it then, but I just found a site I’m about to try out that should give me these picture answers. Picanswers.com is a site where you can in fact post pictures of items and receive answers. How awesome is that? I’ve never heard of such a site, but in my stumbling today found it and can’t wait to dig some of that old stuff out and take pictures and submit it.
I saw some great examples on the site that included pictures of plants that people were hoping to have identified and some Chinese writing that someone was hoping to have translated, and the people had found their answers. And the other topic I found really interesting was the auto section where people posted pictures of cars and wanted to know everything from the make of the car to just the year model. My favorite category I think was the travel category where people were posting pictures of different places around the world and asking people to help identify the location. Surprisingly most of them had answers too.
If you have items around your house you’d like to know more about, take a picture and try it. Think you are a knowledgeable person about any particular area, maybe you could to by PicAnswers and give someone the answers they are looking for about their pictures.
