Ever watch the CBS Early Show? I’m not a regular viewer, but I’m proud to tell you about these awesome Kmart sales that they recently talked about. In fact these sales are so great, that Kmart can’t actually publish all the prices on their site. To find out, you have to add the items to your cart. When you do this, obviously, you’ll see the price of the items. You know when there’s a limit on something or the price is so slow that it can’t be published, that there are some awesome deals. This Kmart sale is no exception.
A couple of the deals are:
- - Women’s Kimono Wrap Sweater Extra 10% off online only (search ID# 70198911)
- - Abbey Hill bedding Medallion Dream bedding collection – Extra 30% online only (search ID# 96096112)
- - 1/4ct tw Diamond 5-Stone Journey Pendant and Earrings Set in 10K Yellow Gold with Extra 10% off online only (search ID# 89270115)
While these are some of the best deals, they aren’t nearly all. In addition to these special sales (so low you have to check prices in the shopping cart), there are many other categories that you can receive 10% off throughout the month of December. These categories include:
- - womens plus sleepwear
- - womens attention brand
- - girls tops
- - ALL juniors
- - boys tops
- - mens shirts and bottoms
- - big mens shirts and bottoms
- - infant and toddler bedding
I have to admit that there are some other stores that tend to be more convenient for me so I’ve done little shopping at Kmart in the past, but after having these opportunities to blog to you about all of the sales and positive steps Kmart is taking in helping us spread our dollars and provide our children with a Merry Christmas, I’m going to start going out of my way to stop in (and do some online shopping!).
Tip: As you browse the Kmart website from now until Christmas, keep your eyee out for hidden ornaments through out the site. They will provide you with extra savings via a special coupon code.

Today’s post for the MomDot Christmas party has been the most difficult. Why? Well let me start by telling you today’s topic:
Who’s on your naughty list? Whose on your nice list? Why?
I could go on and on with my nice list. I know a lot of nice and deserving people, but the trouble starts with the naughty list. How do you define “naughty?” And do I really want to publish the names of people that I think are naughty. The answer to that – heck no!!! So what do I do so I’m participating in the party?
Well, maybe I’ll start with telling you just a few of those Nice People….
There are my family members that are the most giving - the most “nice”
- my brother, Tommie, who chooses to protect our freedom while serving in the US Army in Iraq
- My parents who are always there for all of us when we need a hand
- My grandmother who is maybe one of my biggest heroes who at 73 years old is still running an elderly foster home - putting others in front of her.
And then there’s some of my favorite friends:
- Mrs. Harrison
- Emily
- Misty
- And my newest friend, Anna
And finally, a few of my blogging friends
And there’s so many other of you mom bloggers out there that I thinnk are the most wonderful people in the world. I wish I could list all of you but then I’d feel so guilty if I tried to and left one of you out. So if you are a mom blogger and you are one of the MomDot Regulars or TheMomBlogs regulars, you are also on my Nice List.
And as for that Naughty list….I won’t say any names, but if you are a “drama causer,” If you are petty and looking to talk trash about people and start trouble, if you think your way is the only way and that you can control others, and if you don’t care enough about your child to put them first in yoru life, then YOU are on my Naughty list.

As I was going through our daily paper today, I noticed a Sears ad. I actually need a few things from Sears and have some gifts in mind for my dad and brother in law that I’ll probably order from Sears so I went ahead and flipped through it. I was amazed to see that Saturday they are having an early morning, wee hours, sale just like I am used to shopping on the Friday after Thanksgiving - Black Friday. How exciting is that for us bargain shoppers? Then as I move around the web tonight to some of my regular sites, I am given the opportunity to come and tell you about these amazing deals. (Seemed like fate to me so I jumped on this one)
If you are ready to do some shopping, whether it be Christmas gifts or major home purchases, check out the sales at Sears Super Saturday Sale, Saturday November 22nd and you may just want to rise early and be there bright and early Saturday morning to get the best deals (and be sure they don’t sale out) because this sale will only be good on November 22nd, and Sears will not be issuing any rainchecks. It will be first come, first serve (just like on Black Friday).
A couple of the sales that really cayght my eye were the Craftsman C3 19.2-volt 3-pc combo tool kit and the outerwear and sweaters will be 60% off. We are really in need of new jackets and coats for this year as I’ve not bought myself one in several years (and of course Cameron outgrows hers so quickly).

I just wanted to take a moment to remind you that tomorrow is our checkin day for Think Thin Thursday. We’ll have completed our first week of thinking ourselves thin and encouraging each other to make wise decisions when it comes to our weight and health. I’ve been working hard (and will report in officially tomorrow). I can’t wait to read about everyone else’s results either. I was reading about Orovo today and thinking how I was glad that I had avoided pills so far and was working on improving things with Think Thin Thursday. Get ready everyone - tomorrow’s the big day!!

So, I’ve recently read that our national divorce rate is about 50%. I can’t beleive it! What has happened in the US that half of marriages are ending in divorce. Why was I looking at this? Because the move Fireproof has been really big in our area - in the theatre and in local churches. I’m not totally against divorce. I do believe there are instances that divorce is the option, but I also believe that we as a country rush into marriage because we know divorce is there and then we rush into divorce at the first problem. The National Institute of Marriage is trying to help combat the direction that our country is headed by offerng counseling for couples. This is the press release I found explaining this:
With the national divorce rate around 50%, there is no doubt that many marriages run into communication problems at some point. There is a communication epidemic. The National Institute of Marriage has created marriage counseling programs and resources utilizing a structure that is the most powerful format they have found for helping couples who feel stuck and hopeless. They have designed several programs to help couples move past the barriers and experience the marriage of their dreams.
NIM’s Intensive Marriage Counseling Programs are unique from weekly marriage counseling in three distinctive ways:
· Intensive Marriage Counseling Format: Committing to an extended amount of concentrated time like the 2 or 4 day Marriage Intensive allows people to get to the root of the problem and stick with it in order to work through it. If you’ve been in traditional marriage counseling before, you may have experienced how you spend the first half catching up from the week before, the second half getting into the real issues, and then the time is gone. The Intensive format is designed so that people have the chance to go deeper without many of the other distractions of daily life and have enough discuss to consider solutions.
· Efficiency: One of the first steps in the process is an extensive assessment with some questionnaires. This allows the therapists to gather background information and can get an idea of the best strategy to proceed before you arrive for your session.
· Marriage Counselors: The counselors at the National Institute of Marriage are specialists in this area. One analogy we like to use is that of the Mayo Clinic: people go to their regular physician but may be sent to a specialist to work with specific areas. The NIM marriage therapists have been trained in this format to maximize its effectiveness. Also, the NIM marriage counseling programs provide the perspectives and insight of two professionals rather than one.
If you are considering divorce, you must try the National Institute of Marriage before giving up. They have developed a continuum of care that meets couples wherever they may be in their relationship. Regardless of the health of their marriage they have a service that can help couples improve their marital satisfaction. Visit their website at http://www.nationalmarriage.com. Read the incredible testimonies from the couples that saved their marriages by attending a Marriage Intensive at the National Institute of Marriage.
I am so happy to see national organizations working towards this goal of successful marriages. I knew things were bad, but I didn’t know things were this bad. It makes me even more leery of entering the dating (and then marriage) rule. If you (or anyone you know) are considering divorce, I encourage you to be sure you have done everything you can to make it work before you actually go and file those papers that end your marriage.
