You may have noticed that I haven’t been posting quite as much around here lately.  That’s because I’ve been in the process of building some new blogs.  I think they are close to finished as far as design goes so I’m happy to announce that I have started a new blog for reading and book reviews called A Novel Mind.  You can find it at http://www.anovelmind.com.  I’ve also been working with my friend Catherine and she’s creating a blog dedicated to her life of living a healthy life and will talk about her diet and exercise habits.  She’s calling it The Healthy Tales (http://www.thehealthytales.com).

In doing all of this I also looked for a new host (as you know I’ve not been happy with my current one).  One of my the resources I found most useful in looking for web hosting research was Web Hosting Geeks.  I was able to get a list of some of the most recommended sources.  Then I took their top ten lists and then researched all of those companies.  In addition, you can actually read real customer reviews.  I ended up going with HostGator after reading their reviews and then following up with some other sites to verify the information.  One thing I learned at Web Hosting Geeks that I didn’t find anywhere else was that they are also a green company. According to their site, “All of HostGator’s shared and reseller servers are powered and cooled by wind power generated in our home state of Texas.”  I thought  that was really cool to find out and also that it’s in my home state of Texas.  So far I’ve been really happy with HostGator.  If you are looking for a place to start your research on web hosts, check out Web Hosting Geeks.
