My Internet SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!

Yes…I have missed my Think Thin Thursday post, my Aloha Friday post and after an hour on the phone with tech support today, I was informed they CAN’T FIX IT!!! And if I want it fixed, I have to have a tech guy come to the house AT THE COST OF $130!!!!! Yes…I now have a car that needs a $2,000 transmission and an Internet connection that needs a $130 service call! I flat out that Hughes Net sucks! I have for a long time, but lucky me lives in the woods (and actually I like living in the woods in EVERY aspect except my damn Internet options) and I really only have 2 options – Wild Blue and HughesNet and from what I understand, Wild Blue is worse. I mean seriously for $70 a month and hundreds up front for the satellite and modem, it seems the least they could do is keep us UP AND GOING! Hell, I’d be happy with ONE free tech visit a year. But no…we pay them and pay them and pay them! For better than phone line, but crappy compared to other high speed connections that are VERY moody with the weather and more than any other freakin type of connection out there AND expensive service calls. Aren’t we lucky to be Hughes Net customers?!?

Anyways, that Internet that is guaranteed to be out permanently – no hope? Well, now that I’ve agreed for them to send a serviceman out, it’s working tonight….SLOWLY, but it’s working hit or miss. UGH!!!  Anyways, please excuse my posts over the next few days. I have to wait 3 to 5 days for the serviceman to arrive (which means a week right?) so I may have short posts over the next week and they may not be daily, but when my connection is happily restored within the NEXT week…I’ll be back to happily posting….

BTW, I did throw a royal fit with the FOREIGNER that had to repeat everything 4 times before I understand him on the HOUR long tech call (this is why I went 2 days before I called them) so I will be getting 37 free days of service – yea, me!  That’s the first time in almost 10 years of service that they’ve offered me ANYTHING.

    Is it the the internet or really the support services that sucks? I hear you pain. Last week I spent three…yes three….hours on the phone trying to get a wireless mouse fixed. The mouse has been a constant problem since we purchased the computer and the support has been a complete waste of time. This is the sixth time I have called them to fix the problem. I guess I will just end up buying a different mouse…aarrgghhh.

    I feel for you. Sadly the big name companies for cable internet are just as bad, well except for that service fee. 130 bucks? ouch.

    @waytosouth – Oh…I actually think both suck to some degree, but the service is much worse than the connection.

    @Cat – yea…$130 is a nightmare especially since I already pay so much more than most people do for their Internet.

    Oh I am so sorry Kimberly. I had my own issues with AT&T in November and I was seriously considering a wireless card and saying to hell with them. They finally got me up and running but it wasn’t without me calling and complaining all the time. I hope they get you fixed.
