Us Mom’s have so many stories to tell and Heather at The Gift Closet has set aside Mondays as a day for us to all tell our tales.  Today was a pretty exciting (and scary) day at our house so I thought I would share that.  In our state, standardized testing starts in the 3rd grade, and Cameron is in the 3rd grade this year.  In each of the odd years from 3rd to 7th, students also have to pass our test to be promoted to the next grade so this is a BIG deal.  The test that 3rd graders have to pass is the Reading test, and that test is tomorrow.  You expect this to be somewhat stressful right?  I mean as a mom, I know Cameron shouldn’t have a problem, but it still makes me nervous.

So today I’m standing out at my afternoon duty watching the students leave school for the day, and she runs up so excited that she has homework and do I need to know what that homework is.  Ok – first I’m thinking – “you have what?!” and then “and why are you excited?”  I bite as she wants and ask, “What is your homework?”  She replies that it’s “a bunch.”  Ok – “what?”  

“I have to relax tonight, and I have to eat a GOOD supper, and get at least 8 hours of sleep. Oh, and you have to fix me a good breakfast in the morning, and I get to eat breakfast for FREE at school.”  

Yea to our teachers for making this not a nervewracking experience as I know that students do not perform as well if they are stressed out.  *Cross your fingers for us*
