As we make some plans to addon to our house, I’m also trying to find smart ways to use our small space effectively. I’ve been combing women’s household magazines sites (they always have articles about clutter and organization) and looking for some creative ways to do things like store stuff in the open but not make it obvious or junky looking. Another thing I’m looking at is our furniture. What could we replace realistically (i.e. affordable) such as audio racks and maybe our computer desks. If anyone out there has tips for maximizing small spaces please post. I’d love advice.

I wish I had some good tips for you, but I don’t. However it must be nice to get some things moved around. Every once in a while I like to switch where everything is at in my home just to give some change to the everyday life.

I have one tip (from a serious clutter-challenged person here!)
-BASKETS!
I have found that baskets are a great way to hide the clutter in a hurry for that 10-second tidy that needs to be done on occasion. They can go under end/coffee tables and if you get a few the same size & shape they will look streamlined all together.

Thanks for the advice Stacy. That’s what I’m looking for is solid realistic advice.
