I’m Officially Upgraded
Yea. I have officially upgraded to WordPress 2.6! I’m so excited. It went smoothly as far as I’ve been able to see so far. If you find any qwerks around here, please let me know. I’ll be sure to try to find a fix for it. If you had already upgraded to 2.5, you’ll see very few changes, but there are some that I’m excited about. One of them is that it does an automatic word count. I’m loving that already in this first post. It’s not so much that it always matters, but I’m always curious so I think this is a very nifty upgrade. (That was 104 words!) The only problem I’ve found is when my typing is really going the count can’t keep up with me, and I have to pause a minute and wait on it. That might just be my connection though. I’m not sure.
There are some other upgrades too. One other one I’m excited about is that when looking at themes, WordPress now has the ability to let you preview themes with your data without actually choosing the theme and making it visible to others. This is quite interesting and a real plus for me as I have been playing with themes and now it will be easier to test them out before sharing them with all of you!!
The final part that I think is a nice feature in this upgrade is the ability to put captions underneath our photos. I’ll be trying that out soon so be on the lookout for it.
If you use WordPress and want to upgrade, I highly recommend that you first install the plugin WordPress Automatic Upgrade. It is SOOO easy to upgrade using that plugin. It’s simply click and click just as if installing a piece of basic software on your computer. I have used it for both of the last two upgrades with complete success. *knock on wood*
