Twenty years ago today I was not happy. I was no longer an only child. Ten years of being an only child – the ONLY ONE spoiled! Not only was I not an only child, I didn’t get a sister. I didn’t even get a brother – I GOT TWO! I promptly decided to spend the rest of the summer away from home. I didn’t want anything to do with those BOYS! They slowly grew on me….by the end of summer I actually liked curling up with them. By the time summer ended though, I decided I guess they were here to stay so I might as well love tolerate them. Of course then I began to realize just how special and wonderful they were, and now I wouldn’t trade them for anyone in this world.
Happy Birthday to My BABY Brothers!!! I LOVE YOU!

Belated happy birthday to your brothers, Kimberly! This is so sweet. My daughter was an only child for almost eight years, so I know what you mean. I’ve watched her little brother “grow on her” over the years, and it warms my heart to see how close they are, today, even if they do still fight like cats and dogs some days. That’s okay – so long as they stick together against everything else.
