Loved it, loved it, loved it! My daughter and I completely agree with this review.I have been looking for a fun, light-hearted book series that would engage my 9 year old. Everything we have tried is either sarcastic, filled with sexual overtones for that age (already) or just not age appropriate in some way. I have been very disappointed. I too, was worried that the religious overtones were going to be a bit much, but they were so nicely inserted in a subtle and natural way. My daughter has even requested that we start saying the prayer at the end of the book every night before bed. She loves it - and so does my husband. Of course, there is also a character in the book with the same name as mine, which my daughter gets a real charge out of! You don't find a lot stories with my name used, so she thought that was way cool.

I found the story to be fresh, encouraging, and it had such a nice lesson., which my daughter picked right up on - without even realizing it. How great is that? Many relgious books are very preachy, almost insisting the kids better learn something while reading. My daughter usually loses interest, or if I can keep her engaged, she forgets it right afterward. In this case, the message really stuck - along with the title name. She goes around reminding all of us "to have a little bit of faith" all the time. It's so cute. Applause to the writer of this book. She has done an outstanding job of putting together a story that we will cherish and share with friends!
