Nancy Alvarez, owner of the travel website A Fairy Tale Event, has been charged with 42 felony counts.  She’s been charged with 3rd degree grand theft, unlicensed sale of travel, scheme to defraud and operating a business without a license.  Apparenly, Alvarez set up her own website and advertised on Craig’s List promising grand Disney vacations.  The problem? There was no vacation.  She simply took people’s money.

One offer that Alvarez sold was to a local Texas family, the Casto’s.  For $1,200 she promised them airfare, seven nights at Disney’s Polynesian Resort, park entrances, free meals and a rental car.  Not only did they book this great deal quickly, they told other family members and a family reunion trip was planned.  Sadly, there will be no trip now as Alvarez has their money.  She’s reportedly swindled over $25,000 from families across the country through her fake business - A Fairy Tale Event!

Her arraignment is set for October 27th.

Can you imagine how awful this would be? To be planning such a great trip with your family - to the most magical place on Earth to then have to explain to your small children that their trip to see “the Mouse” would not happen because of a woman who had lied and taken your money.
