Most Romantic Proposals

I am active on a Disney forum where there was a young man recently asking advice of where and how he should propose to his girlfriend on their trip to Walt Disney World. Now talk about a dream proposal! As a Disney fan, I thought that was so sweet. He had his ring he purchased from Since1910.com and was trying to decide if there was a restaurant or special place on property to propose. My vote was for when they went to meet Mickey and Minnie. Yes, the castle is great. Yes, there are some amazing restaurants, but think of the engagement pictures with Disney’s #1 couple. That would be pictures to share for years and years.

So I got to thinking. What would be the most romantic on screen proposals?

Absolutely without a doubt, my favorite movie proposal was in Sweet Home Alabama.  Tiffany’s open just for you and pick anything you want.  Now that is any girls dream come true! Even for a girl like me who likes her jewelry simple, I might just change my style if ever given this opportunity. :-)

Back to School Cleaning

Once school starts my life goes crazy! Crazy I tell you. So in the weeks before school starts I must focus on doing some deep cleaning that will last a while until our school life establishes a routine and I can keep up with school and home. So today I made sure to do all the carpet cleaning around here.  Occasionally, I like to do a little more than the standard vacuuming and sweeping and really scrub the floors.

While I took care of the floors, Cameron worked on dusting and windows. Tomorrow we go back to school. It’s hard to believe that summer is over. I’m not sure I’m ready, but I guess it is here whether we are ready or now, huh? That’s the way it always is. The summer flies by so quickly.  It seems it goes a little fast each year. My to do list seems to have more stuff left on it each year when school starts. But at least we will start the year with a clean house (and hopefully not have to do much cleaning for a few weeks while we adjust).

Dental Work?

My youngest daughter is about to turn 11 and my teeth have never recovered from being pregnant with her.  She seemed to really damage them.  They have never been truly white again and even the texture/shape changed so I’ve been considering cosmetic dentistry.  I always notice people’s smiles, and I hate that no matter how much I brush, floss, and go to the dentist for regular cleanings, I still don’t have the smile I want.  I found a San Antonio Texas Dentist that seems to offer great services and has some amazing before and after pictures, but it’s a long drive for me so I have to decide if it’s worth it to make that drive and how many visits would I have to make to get the look I want? Going to San Antonio is a long drive, but I want quality work and when you live in a rural area like I do, you have to consider driving sometimes to get what you want – it’s a trade off I guess for quiet neighborhoods, lots of land that there isn’t a housing authority dictating my actions on my property, and low property taxes. San Antonio Cosmetic Dentistry sounds like a great idea though the more I look into it.  I always have a nice chunk in my health savings account left each summer that must be spent by September 1 so maybe I will see if it can be applied to cosmetic dentistry.

Fun in the Sun

I love summer.  I love the heat of Texas.  Lots of people complain, but I love my pool time. I love that we can swim from April to October.  But I’m feeling the consequences right now (oops!). Lots of sun means sometimes red skin, peeling skin, and all the time dry skin if I’m not very careful.   My solution? Regular baths with bath sea salt and lots of lotion. And if I”m diligent, I don’t end up looking like a snake by the end of the summer.

Do you have any summer skin care tips?

A Little Over A Week from Now

I will be starting a rigorous exercise routine, and I’m actually excited about it.  Being honest, it’s probably just rigorous for me – not those in shape, but after I get back from vacation, my youngest daughter and I will be doing Jillian Michael’s 30 day shred daily with our new hot pink yoga mats , the 20second workout series, and my Walk Away the Pounds videos – each daily.  Now I know this is something I can’t maintain.  When school starts, it becomes almost impossible to fit in any exercise, but I’m hoping that I can 1 – get a good jump start on weightloss/toning, and 2 make enough of a habit of exercise in general that I do maintain at least one steady type of exercise throughout the school year.

Do you have any exercise videos you enjoy?  I’m not coordinated so dancing is out, but if you have any other ideas, I’d love to try them out this summer.
