Yes, we were out of school from Wednesday through Sunday, but it just didn’t seem like a vacation. I thoroughly enjoyed every moment of the break. Life gets so busy that it seems that we just don’t spend the time we should with family and friends. Having some time off of work (especially since most of us are in education with similar schedules) allows us to really find time to spend together. From the previous Saturday (yes, I know, not on vacation yet, but because we knew it was a short week, we didn’t mind staying out late) going to see the late showing of Harry Potter with good friends and some of my favorite former students to going back to see Tangled with my daughter, friend, and her daughter on Wednesday, it started off great. We then spent Thursday with various family members through the day and then shopped Friday with my mom. Saturday was just Cameron and I as we decorated for Christmas. It was great! But I accomplished nothing except quality family/friend time. LOL No blog cleaning or redecorating. None of the posts I intended to write – just family time. And I refuse to be sorry. It was great!

I Want New Doors
I always have at least one home improvement project (supplies and labor) on my Christmas list each year as my dad likes to give these gifts better than picking out books or movies that he’ll think I like or things more feminine. This year I asked for a new front door and a new shed door. The shed door actually fell off and it leaning against the shed now, and the front door – well – it’s just pathetic. There’s no other way to describe it.
We talked about it at dinner last night and I have asked for new doorknobs and locks to go with the doors. I really, really like the electronic locks made by Schlage. I love the idea of not needing a house key (yes, mine is always in the house). I’m crossing my fingers.
What is on your Christmas list?
It’s F A L L
It is fall! I am loving it. The kids come in whining about being cold. They are distressed that I won’t turn on the heater. Letterman jackets are out, and the temperature is dropping in the 40s at night. I love it! And the highs are only in the 70s and 80s. Now as soon as it gets much colder, I too won’t care for it, but for now – I’m LOVING it.
Next week is the annual county fair and that’s usually a big deal for us, but this year we are heading south to Corpus for the weekend. I can’t wait!
Whew! Party #10 Over
My daughter’s birthday party was today and I am soooo glad it is over. I am exhausted! Very, very exhausted. I just want to crawl in my bed and sleep for about 48 hours. LOL But everything went off without many hitches…thank goodness! Each of our problems were able to be solved quickly (and before guests started arriving). Food – great. Swimming, trampoline jumping, and making smores were considered great activities by all, cake turned out WONDERFUL, and Cam received some great gifts that she is still up loving (nothing embarrasing like lingerie). LOL Going to post a few more contests and then head to bed to sleep 48 6 hours!
Back from Vacation so Vacation Begins
I am officially back from our Disney vacation. We did a night at All Star Movies and then headed to 5 wonderful days on the Disney Wonder! It was great! From there, we went to Pop Century (our home away from home) for 8 nights. HEAVEN! Got our favorite – Tie Dyed Cheesecake – and our Disney fix. Both vacations were wonderful!
We are currently planning to try to alternate cruises and WDW every other year though as doing both was exhausting!
We came back from Disney to turn around and head to Corpus. Becka is now officially registered for classes at Texas A&M – Corpus Christi and all housing paperwork filed.
Now that I’m back from vacation, I’m happy to report some real summer vacation time now so I can do nothing for a while. High on my summer plans – get the blogs back in gear. I’m ready. I’ve missed everyone. I have some ideas for each site so look for some new postings and ideas around.
