Scrub Shopping

I’ve several times wished that I could wear scrubs to work.  Unfortunately, not in the cards for me in the classroom, but they look so comfy. My dad retired from teaching though and is talking about going back and getting his nursing license renewed and with Father’s Day fast approaching, I thought why not check out: http://www.blueskyscrubs.com/categories/Scrubs/Scrubs-for-Men/?  Back when he was a nurse, they wore white scrubs and white scrubs only, but now there are soooo many options it’s crazy.  I don’t even know where to begin when shopping for someone else, but I would have no problem picking out a few for myself. :-)

If I could wear them, I’d pick out some really cute pink scrubs like these from Blue Sky Scrubs. Of course, if we could wear them to work, I’d have to look for purple and owl scrubs as well since that’s our school color/mascot.  It’s funny (to me) that kids go crazy over the idea of school uniforms, but so many careers require a uniform, whether it be a suit and tie, scrubs, or so many other required dress codes of employees, but we all get enraged at the idea of our students individuality being taken away.  I would LOVE for my individuality to be taken away and to be issued a few pair of scrubs so I can be comfy at work each day.

Late, Late Night TV

I am rare – I actually enjoy that Late, Late Night Infomercials, and I want one of everything that they sale. I’m positive that all those kitchen tools are AWESOME.  I’ve actually even thought of starting a website that only reviews products sold on television – that’s how obsessed I am.  From gardening tools to kitchen tools to the top acne products. They can all be bought at 1 am and promise some amazing results!  Even though I want them all, I tend to be pretty picky when it comes to actually purchasing though – but one day, I’ll buy them all and share my opinions on them all!

Fast Growing Feet

Cameron’s feet are growing – FAST.  The tennis shoes we bought in August – hurting her feet now!  *sigh*  The joys of parenthood right? Because she outgrows them so fast, they get little wear.  And for this reason, I want to spend as little as possible on them.  If you are a parent, you understand, right?

Before heading out to shop in our local stores, I thought – maybe I can find a good deal online.  But where to begin? Just going to the store websites that we could go to in person is not going to yield much better (if any) results.  Then I found ShopWiki.

ShopWiki is a huge online database of over 30,000 stores and their items and prices.

What makes them different than the competitors?

Stores do not pay to have their products listed at ShopWiki.  Instead they list them independently.  Therefore, whereas most sites that allow for comparison shopping have at most a 1,000 vendors, ShopWiki as 30,000.  Now that’s the way to find a bargain.

In addition to looking for Cameron a pair, I’m also looking for myself a good pair of workout shoes. At ShopWiki, you can even be specific enough to specify what sport or recreational activity, you’ll be taking part in to get the best price on the appropriate shoe.

Another interesting quality about the ShopWiki site is taht it also gives you a sort of guide to whatever you are looking for.  I was looking up running equipement and the benefits of running and some quick tips as well as products and stores to purchase them from.

Just a tid bit of info I found and thought I’d share with you.  :-)

Going Shopping Today and Friday

Today was pay day so I’m taking Cameron shopping to buy her friends and teacher gifts and I’ll pick up the last few things I need for everyone but her and Becka. Friday I’ll go and buy it and pray that the items I want are available and I can call it D-O-N-E!  I actually feel good this year because I only have 2 people on my list that I don’t know what to buy them and have to go around and browse.
