Beep, Beep

Shopping for train horns is not an easy task. But it is the “In style” thing to do right now to have something other than just a beep, beep horn on the big 4×4 truck. Now I drive a little car and don’t really worry about getting train horns delivered here as I’m happy with my little beep beep, but I heard a truck the other day in the parking lot that truly sounded like a train approaching. It was freaky, but I thought if I had a big truck, that would be the horn I would want.

Christmas Shopping for Rings

It’s beginning to feel a lot like Christmas around here – not due to the weather. It was over 80 degrees today, but because I spend a little time every few days pulling out Christmas presents and wrapping them.

I buy a few things all year, but don’t really keep up with what I’m buying.  This time of year while the Halloween decorations are set out around the house, I have to pull these items out and inventory what I’ve bought and who it was bought for. This enables me to see who is left on my list.

I’ve bought almost all the gifts needed for all the nieces and nephews on my list.  I have a good bit for my grandson, but I have nothing for all the men on the list! You know the brothers, son-in-law, dads, uncles…..I never know what to buy them.

I found a few things that I’ve thought of buying. I was looking at MensTungstenOnline.com, and they have a great selection of tungsten rings. I’m not 100% sure if the men on my list would like them, but I think the black tungsten rings are really nice.

I’m not sure about buying them jewelry, but if I went that way, I would for sure look into these rings.

What are you buying the men on your list?

New Outfits

Cameron and I skipped real back to school clothes shopping this year and instead are going to buy 2-3 new outfits each month so that we are constantly adding new clothes into the cycle.  So far I’m really liking this way of shopping. As Cameron grows we will be slowly buying bigger clothes that fit.  And hopefully as I shrink, I can bring smaller clothes. :-) So yesterday was the day we browsed the Internet and then the stores for girls clothing and picked out a few outfits for September.

It is getting harder and harder to find clothes that are acceptable to the school and meet Cameron’s unique fashion sense.  There’s a couple local stores, but their prices are not always acceptable for me.  Now there’s a real challenge – the school, Mom, and Cameron all agree on the store and clothes.

Cameron really likes leggings and skirts, but due to dress code, they have to be a  certain length and as she grows taller, it’s harder to find that length. We found a  cute skirt at Tea though and she can’t wait for it to be delivered! It appears that it will meet all of our criteria!

As your child grew into a tween, how did you manage to satisfy all the criteria required for her clothing?

Shop, Shop, Shop Til You Drop

Christmas shopping has begun. It might be 102 degrees outside, but I still must start shopping. I like to have almost everything complete by Black Friday, and I finish it out that day. I should have already started, but I’ve been very unmotivated lately. (oops!) I have a few odds and ends, but I don’t have nearly as much as I should. There are so many great deals online every day though so I’m sure I can start playing catch-up if I get my act together. I found a michael kors watch today that I think will make a great gift for the watch collector in the family. I have a pretty good amount for my youngest daughter and grandson already. They are so fun to shop for.  The hardest people for me are the men – dads, granddads, uncles, brothers.   They will be my last people to buy for as always. Have you started your Christmas shopping yet?

Christmas Shopping Yet?

I like to give Christmas gifts. This means I have to start early since I don’t really have the money to buy everyone the gifts I’d like at Christmas. So I shop all year long and just put the items back until Christmas.  As much as I enjoy giving the gifts, I don’t really enjoy shopping so if I spread it out all year then it isn’t so bad.

If you want to do customized gifts, you also have to start early to have time for the customization and shipping.  I like customized gifts because they are so unique.  I try to not do too many generic gifts because I don’t want to person to have it already.  Today I’m looking at car mats.  Did you know those could be customized? You can buy custom mats for almost any car including the one I was looking for, honda accord custom floor mats.

Unique gifts make Christmas so much fun.  I will spend the next 4-6 weeks trying to gather as many gifts as possible so that when the Christmas rush starts, I am practically done.
