It’s beginning to feel a lot like Christmas – everywhere I go. That’s how I feel when I get home now. The tree is up, the decorations are outside, the christmas wreath is on the door. There are even presents under the tree now. This is Christmas, and I love it! All I need now is for some snow. However that isn’t likely here, but it would make it feel like winter through and through. It’s cold – just not snowing. Of course it rarely snows here so it’s not like I expect it, but it would make that feeling of winter time magic and Christmas even more complete. So let it snow, let it snow, let it snow.

What I Miss
Besides my blogging itself, another thing I really miss now that life is so crazy is reading other blogs. I love reading my blogging friends’ posts. It is great to hear about their lives across the nation. Many of them also host contests – that I could win at one time, but now I don’t have time to read their reviews of toys and eye wrinkle creams. Instead I just gain those eye wrinkles and wear them proudly. That is what I’d like to have the time and energy to do – read your blogs!
Yum Yum Discount
I received a Yum Yum bowl while at Brandcation (see Southern Girl Reviews for more information), and Cameron loves her “little” bowl. She uses it at least 4 or 5 times a week. And usually if she’s not using it, it’s because it’s dirty.
Everyone that becomes a Facebook fan of Yum Yum is eligible for a $5.00 discount on each set of dishes ordered. This is a great deal. Check out Yum Yum dishes! You’ll love them I bet!

Summer may seem far away, but NYC children are currently participating in Fresh Air programs, from weekly tutoring sessions to job shadowings to weekend retreats at Fund camps in upstate New York! Our Career Awareness Program serves more than 300 youngsters in middle and high school. We also have new leadership programs for young women to develop their “can-do” attitudes!

Every year, The Fresh Air Fund gives thousands of inner-city children the priceless gift of fun – and opens the door to a lifetime of opportunities.
Whether it’s a two-week trip to the country to visit a volunteer host family, or a fun-filled and educational stay at one of our fund camps, our programs make for unforgettable memories – and open a world of new friendships and fresh possibilities.
- Just $10 will send one child on a bus ride to his or her Friendly Town host family.
- $24 provides a child with a week of swimming lessons.
- $42 provides a day of Career Awareness classes.
- A gift of $50 can fund a camp counselor for a day.
- If you can give as much as $91, you provide a child at camp with meals for a week.
We are a not-for-profit agency and depend on tax-deductible donations from people like you to keep our vital programs flourishing.
Blah! Not Yet the Holiday!
I feel whiny, but I hate that I have to go to school next week. For years and years, we never went to school during Thanksgiving week, but when we moved schools 4 years ago, their schedule is different and we have to go on Monday and Tuesday now. This week felt like we needed a vacation – everyone is tired, having a hard time focusing, chatty, and irritable. Tomorrow we have a UIL meet (I have to leave the house at 6am in the morning). I dread the waking up early, but I can’t wait to spend the time with the kids. UIL competition is a great environment! Thanks to the 6 day week though, I’ll be extra tired Sunday.
