Dancing With the Stars

Anyone enjoying this season of Dancing with the Stars? When I saw the original list of “Stars,” I wasn’t so excited, but after continuing to be a loyal fan and watching, I have to say that I am starting to really enjoy this series.  I’ve been really impressed with the skills of the dancers still in the competition.  I’m also enjoying the new ideas this season – tv theme show, rock night, and the 200th celebration this week that is celebrating past seasons.  Each one has been impressive. I can’t wait to see what is in store the rest of the season.

Next Home Project: TV Mounting

I invested in 2 semi-small (26″) flat screen tvs for mine and Cameron’s bedrooms at the end of the summer, but now I have to figure out where and how to mount them to the wall.  There are tons of rackmount lcd options. I can mount flush on the wall or have it turn at different angles. I even found a corner mount. I’m hoping to accomplish this task over the Thanksgiving break so it’s time to make a decision and get the supplies ordered.

Would This Work?

I’ve started noticing that a lot of movies are cheaper on iTunes than buying the DVD. For example, when I looked at Toy Story 3 in the store the other day, it was $24.99.  On iTunes it was $9.99.  This got me to thinking.  Was there a way to hook up my ipod to the television so we could watch movies as a family?  I decided to search for iphone accessories, and there is such a cable.  There are actually two different ones depending on the type of television you have I guess.  Both cost $49.99.

Now I’m trying to determine if I buy a movie and my ipod goes out, would I still own the copyrights and be3 able to redownload them or are the gone forever?  This would be the only thing that would keep me from beginning to go this route.  I personally think we should be able to download them under our email account as many times as we need to, but maybe that’s why they are cheaper – because they are only good for one person? hmmm

Anyone know more about this?

Recycled Movies?

I have found it so funny this weekend watching the girls (my daughter and a friend that stayed the weekend) watching shows on various channels that I watched growing up.  Not too long ago, Cameron and I watch all three Back to the Futures and Ghost Busters which was awesome – even though I don’t think Cameron understood a lot of it, but to top it off this weekend Teen Witch came on and the girls watched it multiple times.  I had completely forgotten about this movie. When I saw it recorded on the DVR, I still just thought it was some new movie, but then when I saw them watching it, I was amazed.  I remember watching this movie over and over.  I even checked the release date, and I was almost the exact same age they are when it came out, and I was watching it so much.  It’s so weird.  Have your children started watching any of the shows you watched.

It’s Grey’s, It’s Grey’s

Yep, yep. I’m super, super happy because I’m watching Grey’s Anatomy. Whoohoo!! I’m so excited! It feels like forever since I watched it last. I can’t wait to enjoy every minute of it and Private Practice. I was, in fact, sad to watch my summer shows end their seasons, but this week watching all my shows return from spring has me happy, happy, happy, happy!  Any shows back on the air that you’re excited about?
