Tinkerbell Coming To The Small Screen

Tinkerbell and her fellow fairies from Pixie Hollow now have their own video game for the Nintendo DS.  The player plays as Tinkerbell and is able to travel around Pixie Hollow and interact with several of the other fairies. I’ve not found much about this game yet, but I think we will begin seeing more and more of it between now and October when the Disney Fairy movie will be released on DVD (titled Tinker Bell).

One of the neat features I read about this game is that it responds to a real time clock in the DS and you will see snow during the winter and fireflys at night on your screen. My daughter will be happy because she can dress Tinkerbell in several different outfits. We don’t have anyone else with a DS, but it does have the ability to link to other players and chat and share outfits and accessories also.

We are HUGE Tink fans here so I’m thinking this game will be found in a stocking at my house. If you are still considering it at that point, I’ll be sure to give you more details and write a review.

Win a Wii

From what I understand, it is still hard to find a Wii – so how cool would it be to win one for your family?  If you check out To Think Is To Create, you just might be able to win one for your family. Yes indeed – a free wii for your family.  That’s super and possible. Just head over to To Think Is To Create. Leave a comment for an entry and you can blog about it on your blog for a second entry (haha! you knew there had to be a reason I was sharing this awesome contest with you didn’t you? Now you know. I’m sharing for entirely selfish reasons.  :) Seriously though, head over and make sure you are entered.

Do You Want to Dance With the Stars?

Are you a Dancing with the Stars fan? Do you make sure you’re home every week to watch some of our favorite (and some not so favorite) celebrities mold from clumsy fools to sharp professional looking ballroom dancers? Then you may be excited to know that we will soon have a new Dancing with the Stars video game for the Wii and Nintendo DS.  We’ve played the other one for many hours so I’ll admit to being excited on the new release from Activision. The new version will have new dancers, new moves and more intense dances, and on the DS you’ll even be able to change the dancers clothes.  I have a feeling my daughter will be begging for this as soon as she knows it exists.  Never seen the Dancing with the Stars game?  Check out the video clip of the current version below.

No Wii Fit for Me!! :(

My bonus is in the bank!! Yea!  This is really exciting to me.  I am still deliberating whether or not to pay off my car or do the add on the house that I was hoping for, but I decided I deserved one splurge gift – a Wii Fit.  Cameron and I were out shopping last week and I almost bought one, but decided I would wait until after pay day. I didn’t see a need to buy it right then and there as our local GameStop had at least 20 or 25 sitting out.  Well as it turns out, apparently I should have went ahead and purchased it because now they have none! :(

I really want to become more physically active. I don’t want to rely on diet pills. They scare me. It’s not just the cheap diet pills either, actually I think it’s probably the more expensive ones that scare me the most. My exercise activity of choice would be walking/jogging, but I want to do that outside. And as a single mom, to a young daughter, I can’t really do this. In the Texas heat, I would have to do this first thing in the morning (aka daylight), but I can’t leave Cameron by herself while I go walk. So I have to find something I can do in my shall house – I think a Wii Fit might just be the key. As soon as I can find one, we’ll be purchasing it.

It’s BONUS Time

I went in to see my principal this week and I now know how much of a bonus I’m receiving for my TAKS scores. I’m VERY excited!!  It’s slightly over $7,000!!!!  I was floored!  For a teacher’s salary, that’s a VERY significant % bonus compared to my yearly salary.  Now we’re trying to figure out if that’s enough to do the framework for the addition I want to add on to my house. That was my ultimate goal for this money. To get the framework up. After that, I can put in a little a month to finish it, and there’s no big hurry. The point would be to do it without involving a loan.  I’m also deliberating paying off my car instead of starting the addition (as much as that pains me to say) because that would then clear up almost $600 a month. With that cleared up, I could save so much not only in interest, but then I’d have that each month to go into the house remodel, and I would be out of my largest debt. UGH!  Sometimes I hate being an adult and having to make wise decisions. (oh! and it would only take half of it to pay my car off and I could still put the rest into savings towards the house remodeling).

I have decided to give myself one gift out of this money. One “frivolous” gift. One thing that’s just for me (well ultimately I guess it is for the family but I’m claiming it as mine). I’m going to buy me a Wii Fit. I’ve got to get more physically active. I refuse to turn to diet pills such as Phentermine 37.5 mg. I’m just too afraid of the side effects. But here I am two weeks into summer vacation, and I’m still not exercising. I’ve been reading lots of reviews of the Wii Fit from women and mothers and almost all of it has been really positive. I’m so excited!!!  I can’t wait.  I’ll bue sure to let you know how it goes after I purchase it. I have to wait to actually get the bonus.
