Sailing Along the Life of Single Parenthood

Celebrity Relationships

When I read about David Cross and Amber Tamblyn’s engagement, I started thinking – WHY?  Not why are they engaged, but why do we care? What makes a celebrities life so interesting? Why do we care when an actor or singer gets married or divorced? Why is it our business? Why do we need to know if they have a ring from Tiffany’s or the are sporting a ring from Since1910.com designer engagement rings? Why do I wonder? Because I DON’T CARE!  Yea. I don’t get it.

If a celebrity cheats on his wife, is that not his personal business? Why do I care?

This actually started a few days ago, when a friend was trying to remember who a celebrity’s first husband had been and couldn’t believe that I didn’t know.  I didn’t know because I don’t follow celebritys’ personal lives.  I don’t know who is married to who? Who is divorced from who? And who has cheated on who? And further more, I wish that it would stay off the news.

Yes, there is a big age difference between Tamblyn and Cross, but why did this make the news? If they are ok with it, then I’m happy for them. Best of luck to them.

Black Friday Ads are Released!

Are you a Black Friday shopper? I have been going for years. Even this year when I don’t really see a whole lot that I want, I will be up and at them to buy SOMETHING. Yes! It’s a family tradition in our house. This year I am looking over a few different electronics for our family such as a hd media player.  But my girls actually have too many electronics and are too old for most toys so this year will be a different type of shopping.  There are some great deals out there though if you are in the market.  Just search for Black Friday if you haven’t seen the ads yet.  My favorite site is bfads.net.  They already have Sears, JCPenny, Walmart, Kmart, Target (all the stores I consider going to).  Good luck with your Christmas shopping!

Dancing With the Stars

Anyone enjoying this season of Dancing with the Stars? When I saw the original list of “Stars,” I wasn’t so excited, but after continuing to be a loyal fan and watching, I have to say that I am starting to really enjoy this series.  I’ve been really impressed with the skills of the dancers still in the competition.  I’m also enjoying the new ideas this season – tv theme show, rock night, and the 200th celebration this week that is celebrating past seasons.  Each one has been impressive. I can’t wait to see what is in store the rest of the season.

Next Home Project: TV Mounting

I invested in 2 semi-small (26″) flat screen tvs for mine and Cameron’s bedrooms at the end of the summer, but now I have to figure out where and how to mount them to the wall.  There are tons of rackmount lcd options. I can mount flush on the wall or have it turn at different angles. I even found a corner mount. I’m hoping to accomplish this task over the Thanksgiving break so it’s time to make a decision and get the supplies ordered.
