Disney Pin, Disney Pin
Some people wait forever and never get their “Disney Pin.” I have the opposite problem. For some reason I seem to be in Disney’s good graces – they send me a few a year. The problem? They send them for when I CAN’T go! Usually they are only good for times when I’m in school, and I can’t justify the time off for school so…they just get deleted.
This time I get one that I could actually use, but I’m trying to save up for a BIG 2010 Disney Trip including a cruise and time at Disney World. This one is for FREE DINING!! Something I thought I would never have the chance to take advantage of in a million years as it’s usually during the fall (school)! It’s such a great savings on a trip to Disney. I would LOVE to experience Free Dining!!! :( I’m honestly wanting to just go price it on Disney’s website…to see just how cheaply we could go (even though I know I shouldn’t)!
If only I could come up with a good profitable second job (or I could just win that dang lottery).
Disney Moves to Bowling?
I’m always amazed at how many areas of our lives that Disney has ventured into, and it appears they are continuing to expand – this time into bowling. According to an article I found at jaunted.com, Disney will be adding a 100 lane bowling alley to the Walt Disney World property in Orlando. It will be built in the ESPN Wide World of Sports complex that hosts the Disney Channel Games each spring.
We love the four main parks so much, we’ve not even ventured into the miniature golf or water parks, but for big fans of family bowling, this may be another way to spend your money with Disney.
Why would Disney do this? Not primarily for the normal families that vacation at Disney probably, but instead to host professional tournaments. And if I had to take a wild guess, those participating in the professional tournaments will probably have good odds of venturing out of the tournament and spending more money with Disney – staying in their hotels, bringing the family to see the parks, or at least doing some shopping at Downtown Disney.
The alley, which will be one of the largest in the United States, is scheduled to open in 2010 and already has signed a deal with the United States Bowling Congress.
!!!FREE!!! Admission to Disney!!
Have you heard the news? If not, listen up. During 2009, everyone can get into Walt Disney World or Disneyland for FREE on their birthday. Yes, for free!!! If you show up at Walt Disney World or at Disneyland with proof that your birthday is on that actual day during 2009, you will receive a free one day admission ticket. You can register online or you can can just go to guest relations when you arrive at the park. If you register ahead of time, apparently you’ll get in much faster, but it’s not required.
Going to be in Disney on your birthday (or your child’s) but already have tickets? Guess what! You can still have an awesome day in the park. Instead of park admission, you can receive:
- A birthday fun card in an amount equal to the price of a 1-day Magic Your Way base ticket for you to use on your birthday for merchandise, recreation or fun activities at select participating locations at Walt Disney World Resort; or
- A special birthday FASTPASS® badge+ for certain attractions at the Theme Park you visit on your birthday;
- or A 1-day Magic Your Way base ticket for you to use any time until your next birthday.
If my estimations are correct, that birthday card would be loaded with about $75! How fun would it be to have that much money to spend on your birthday. I’m so upset that they are doing this next year (when I won’t be at Disney, but didn’t do it this year (when we spent Cameron’s birthday at Disney World).
I hope some of you can take advantage of this awesome deal!!
New Disney Charge
I have to admit to being a little upset about this current rumor I’m hearing, but for those that are planning trips to Disney World, I thought you would need to know this. According to three different forums I frequent, people are now reporting that they are being charged extra fees if they choose to decorate their windows. We’ve laways decorated our windows (and even our room when we were there in December), but I’ve also always been careful about cleaning up our room when we were done. One person reported back that they were notified they would be charged $25 a day!!!
Ok…I might could see a one time fee of $25 as if you don’t take down your decorations, a maid has to spend more time in your room after you check out, but $25 a day!?!?! That’s insane!
Take note Disney Window Decorators!! Ask questions before you are charged this fee!!!
Disney World Moms – Hurry, Hurry, Hurry!!
Time is running out. Entries are now being accepted to be on the 2009 Walt Disney World Moms Panel. While you still have a while if you go by the date deadline (September 19th), you should know that Disney is limiting their entries to 20,000. As soon as that 20,000th entry is received, they will not accept anymore!!
Being on the Walt Disney World Moms Panel would be one of the biggest honors that I can think of receiving. I’ve submitted my application and will be anxiously awaiting – hoping to hear from them and make the cut into even the first round of finals.
Think you know much about Disney? Would you be able to help other mom’s plan their vacations? If so, head over to the link above and fill out the very easy three question form. Be sure to think about your answers and proofread carefully. Good luck to all! If I don’t win, I’m pulling for you….
