A Disney Pin Update
Well yesterday I was so excited about my pin, today I’m a little disappointed. My travel agent called and there were no rooms at Pop available with the pin. I could change my reservation to an All Star Sports Preferred Room or I could upgrade to Carribean Beach Resort. The savings to move to All Star Sports was only $75 and I really have no interest in staying at the All Star resorts. I’m not sure why, but for some reason they just haven’t appealed to me, and if I was staying at one Sports I think would be my last choice. The upgrade to CBR would have cost an additional $112. I thought about this one seriously, but I think have decided against it for a couple reasons.
First, this trip is for Cameron’s birthday and she loves Pop. I did call her over and we did some web searching and found pictures from Carribean Beach, and she wasn’t all that excited. She oohed a little over the pool, but then she would come back and make a comparison about Pop that showed her preference to Pop. (To be honest, the pictures of CBR really don’t call my name either - I prefer the Port Orleans resorts in the moderate level.)
Second, it would cost MORE money. Yes, I know it’s a great savings, and really $112 over 6 nights is not that much, but I can remember always making fun of my grandfather because he would buy all these “great deals” and it would be crap that he would never use, but he couldn’t pass it up because of the fantastic amount he saved. I don’t want that to be me. The girls and I both loved Pop Century and have been looking forward to going back so why pay more?
So I’m still excited to know that Disney knows my address and may continue to send me pins. Maybe one day it will work out for us, but I guess we won’t be taking advantage of this one. Here’s hoping for a general public August discount code that I can apply.

Oh no! I was hoping it would work out for you. Keep calling back since you never know what might open up. I have stayed at CBR and while it is my fav moderate I probably wouldn’t have upgraded either.
