Sailing Along the Life of Single Parenthood

Uh NO!

I’ve been Internet lazy this week, not posting much, not really checking email or replying…just being lazy.  So as I go through all of my email, I find one advertising breeches – you know for horseback riding? It’s weird. This week I also got a horse supply catelog in the mail even though I DO NOT own a horse. My grandmother owns a dozen or so and does live next door, but I don’t mess with them!  Why am I on these lists?  I never look at horses or horse stuff online.  ATTENTION HORSE RELATED COMPANIES!  I don’t do horses!!

Halloween Is Close

It’s only September, but Halloween will be here before we know it, and I’ve been trying to help Cameron find her Halloween costume for this year.  What will she be? I’m not sure.  She wants to be Hannah Montana, but I think that there will be a ton of Hannah Montana’s in our neighborhood so I don’t really want her to be Hannah Montana. But in our searching for other ideas, we really haven’t found many other options.  She’s at an odd age apparently. Too old for many of the costumes that are “cute,” but still young enough that she wants to dress up and Trick or Treat.  When you get out of the “youth” costumes, they stop covering much skin (if you know what I mean).  I’m as clueless as she is. She’s been a chili pepper, Jasmine, Tinkerbell, Cinderella, a spider, a puppy dog, Snow White, and a witch.  What’s left?  We’ve talked about not even having her do the Trick or Treating but instead passing out candy at the community Trunk R Treat and/or having a party (I’ve even looked at Halloween invitations, but she’s not quite ready for that.  So we have to decide on a costume.  I can’t come up with any more ideas.

Home Building

I’ve spent a little bit of my afternoon looking at house plans. I’m in the dream mode again of getting out of our small house.  Cameron has set her dreams on winning an Extreme Home Makeover, but I know that the chances of that are pretty much slim to none, but knowing that she’s recognizing our need of a makeover, got me to looking again, and one thing I’ve looked at are steel buildings. I’ve seen several houses that were built out of metal and then surrounded with brick so that you can’t even tell.  And there seem to be many benefits to steel buildings.  ok….dreams over and back to reality. :)

UgH!

It seems that it’s a good thing I decided to take out dental insurance last year.  I’ve put off all dental work for all 3 of us for years!!  It is showing.  I had to have TWO cleanings to get my teeth clean!  Oh yea, they said there was no way to do it in one session, and it hurt even in two.  I had two cavities, which seemed good compared to both girls – who had about 10 to 12 all together.  WOW!  Yea.  So I’m treated and good for 6 months and the girls are still getting treatment.  Cameron is going to a child’s dentist where she’s used up her entire insurance benefits in two visits…this next treatment will cost me $800+ dollars!  *sigh*  Makes you want to pay attention to that junk you get in the mail about discount programs, a southpark dentist who is cheap but too far away to be practical, or anything else.  These bills are majorly cutting into our expenses.  *sigh*  Wish me luck on winning the lottery!
