Sailing Along the Life of Single Parenthood

Shoe Shopping

I recently got an email from several different places that I shop online and I’ve noticed lots of shoe sales lately and I’m trying to decide what to buy – yep. I’ve already decided I’m buying – I have a few “needs” on my lists and Cameron’s shoes are getting to small.  One sale I found out about was for Dansko shoes, and I’ve never heard of those.  I wore out my tennis shoes this summer bailing hay and except for her flip flops and newest pair of dress shoes, none of Cameron’s shoes fit.  Decisions, decisions – but good decisions. :)

Busy Start to The Year

The school year is officially back in session and life is officially busy.  Yep, things are crazy (that’s why you don’t see too many posts lately).  I’m teaching new classes this year so I don’t have everything memorized – I’m constantly working on ideas and curriculum.  On the positive side, there are a lot less papers to grade now that I’m not teaching English – well, maybe not less, but less intensive.

On top of that, my car that I paid off not too long ago (remember?) is damaged AGAIN!  I ran over a dog last Monday and now am looking at car grills since mine is sitting on my porch instead of my car. D$m$ dog!

But I think we are going better  with routines…hopefully this next week I won’t be ready to crash the moment I walk in the door each afternoon. *cross your fingers*

Tell Me Thursday – Aug 20

tmt

Yesterday’s Wordless Wednesday post was a picture of my mom from Cameron’s birthday party last year.  I posted a picture of her because yesterday was her birthday. My mom and I have always almost always been really close.  I think maybe one of those reasons (besides the fact that she’s just a great mom) is that she was pretty young when she had me so in some ways we grew up together.  Another reason I think is that I was the only child living at home for 10 years.  This means that I was the focus of her attention for a very long time, and even when I wasn’t the only child, I was still the only girl for 3 more years.

In any case, yesterday was Mom’s birthday.  I’d tell you how old she turned, but if she happens to read this, she’d kill me. So I’ll just say that she’s younger than all of my friends’ moms (and she was less than 40 when she became a Nana).  Love you Mom! and Happy Birthday again!
