Sunday Smile #12

Sunday Smile

Sunday Smile is a meme to share something about your week that brought a smile to your face (and will bring one to your readers). For me this is usually a forwarded message I got….the best one I received that week – the one that made me laugh out loud. So check out my Sunday Smile today and then go back to your blog and post something to make your reader’s smile – a forwarded like message, a story about something that happened to you, or even a photo of a funny moment….Then come back and sign Mr. Linky below so that we can all enjoy each other’s smiles as the week progresses and we get busy.

FINANCIAL PLANNING

Dan was a single guy living at home with his father and working in the family business. When he found out he was going to inherit a fortune when his sickly father died, he decided he needed a wife with which to share his fortune.

One evening at an investment meeting he spotted the most beautiful woman he had ever seen. Her natural beauty took his breath away. ‘I may look like just an ordinary man,’ he said to her, but in just a few years, my father will die, and I’ll inherit $65 million.’

Impressed, the woman obtained his business card and three days later, she became his stepmother.

Women are so much better at financial planning than men.

A New Meme: Truth or Dare

Jess over at Nothing But Purple is starting a new meme for Thursdays (yes, I know today is Friday but I just found out about it today). It’s called Truth or Dare and it’s a simple meme to join in each week. Each Thursday Jess will post Truth or Dare options.  Truth being you respond in the comments or on your blog if you’ve done that one thing or not and Dare being something you write about on your blog or do a vlog about it.

This week’s Truth was,

How many piercings do have?

So I have 4 – two holes in each ear.  There you go! Now I’ve reaveled my truth, Jess!  Want to play along? Just head over and let Jess know you are playing and join us (even if you are late like me).

Thank Goodness It’s Friday Afternoon

Since it was only a 4 day week, I’m not sure why, but I’m exhausted. Of course I did go to bed late last night and I got up early this morning and got 30 minutes of Wii Fit in this morning before I got ready for work.  It’s Day 2 of my Think Thin week and I’ve exercised two days. :)  Seeing that I had lost 4 pounds yesterday was really motivating.

Have you heard about Google taking over Feedburner?  I had somehow missed that until today when I found out that all of our Feedburner accounts will be transferred over the Google on February 28 unless you’ve already done it yourself.  So I decided to go ahead and take care of this today. So not only am I happy to have that going on, but I also realized I have 32 subscribers!  Wow!  That’s exciting. I didn’t know there were 32 people that read me. (I love you guys!!)

So I don’t know much about the Google feed yet.  I’m transferring everything now.  I’m not sure how long it will take. I know of one blog that it was a 5 hour wait. But the good news is that you don’t have to sit and watch it transfer. You can even close the browser and it will continue moving.

If you use feedburner, you might want to beat the crowds and go get yours moved over. Otherwise, you may have a hard time when the zillions of blogs handled by feedburner move over on their own on February 28.

To move over, you simply login to Feedburner and in the upper right corner you’ll see a place to transfer your account. After that, it’s a very simply follow directions, click process.

After the proccess is over, you will no longer be able to login to Feedburner and instead you’ll login to http://feedburner.google.com

New Season, New Show

I’ve been given an awesome chance to preview the new season of The Closer and the premier of a new show called Trust Me. Both will begin on TNT on Mnday January 26 (at 8 and 9 CST).  I had seen a few episodes of The Closer, but for some reason never set the DVR to keep up with them.  After watching the preview that I was sent, I have already set up my DVR to record the entire season (along with Trust Me).

The Closer is a hit crime drama (one of my favorite types of TV shows) starring Kyra Sedgwick. This season will have five new episodes airing each Monday.  During this season you’ll find out the fate of Detective Sanchez and whether or not Brenda (Sedgwick) and Fritz will get married.  We’ll also see the return of Brenda’s parents and meet her sister, Claire.

I’m even more excited about Trust Me as I’ll be able to get in on the beginning of the series and know exactly what is going on.   It stars two actors I already know I love, Eric McC ormack and Tom Cavanagh. The two will be great friends and work at an advertising agency in Chicago.  In addition, we’ll see Monica Potter, Griffin Dunne, Sarah Clarke, Mike Damus, and Geoffredy Arend.  You should recognize several of theese find actors.   While the two have worked together as a team at the advertising agency and been very successful, the story will revolve around a promotion – for only one member of the team. Uh Oh! You can already guess there ‘s going to be issues now.

Aloha Friday

Aloha Friday is a great meme that is hosted by An Island Life.  The theory behind Aloha Friday is to just slow down for the day.  According to An Island Life,

In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that we take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So I thought that on Fridays I would take it easy on posting, too. Therefore, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response.

The question over at An Island Life was “what is your favorite thing about winter?” And to be quite honest, I only like one thing about winter, the Christmas holidays. I’m not a cold weather person. I like warmth. And by this point in the season, I’m just ready for winter to be over.

When participating in Aloha Friday, you are supposed to also come back to your blog and post a question for the participants?  To go along with my Think Thin Thursday post (sorta), I ask you today:

How are you doing with those New Year’s Resolutions? Still on the right path? Or already gave up?

If you are participating in Aloha Friday, start over at An Island Life, but be sure to sign my Mr. Linky too.
