It feels like as each day goes by I get further and furhter behind and I need a vacation! While what I really need is a working vacation – a catchup vacation, what I would really like is to take a trip to a fun place like New York and booking a bus charter through NYC. I’ve looked into this before, and think that having a bus for traveling around and touring New York sounds like a relaxing way to do it. Being from a small, rural area, the thought of getting myself around a city that large is almost terrifying. Because I’m the queen of procrastination I actually looked this up today and found that if you have a group of at least nine, you can actually charter the bus to take your group from location to location. This sounds like a great deal for large family vacations or even school trips. Bus Charter NYC will pick you up from the airport and then assist you with all transportation while you are there. They have air conditioned buses with televisions – the top of the line. One of the reasons I love our vacations to Disney is that transportation is not a factor once I get on the plane here at home, and it looks like traveling New York City could be the same way.

Turning Cold
The weather here has turned cold. Today we are 10 degrees lower than our average for this time of year. It was in the 40′s this morning, and tomorrow we are supposed to wake up to near freezing temperatures. I know many across the country think that it’s no big deal and it’s been colder that that. I have even seen the pictures of snowmobiles and snowmobile exhaust, but here it’s cold – really cold. We are not cold weather people here so it’s time to start making preparations.
Coming Along
Thanks to some help by the creator of this original theme (you can find that link at the bottom of this page in the footer), it’s coming along a little more. I got my buttons up on the side here. You’ll see links to 6 of my favorite websites and about half way down this page, you’ll see a banner for MomDot, the home for mom bloggers.
I’ve put some different stuff down at the bottom and will be putting the recent posts back up into the side bar. Slowly but surely it’s coming along.
I’m starting to not like the color choices I made at the top and bottom, but creativity is my biggest weakness when it comes to this redesign so I may end up leaving it at this…We will see. Maybe I can come up with a better color combination to go with my carribean sunset image.
Still Working on the ReDesign
As posted previous, I decided I wanted a change…specifically I wanted to bars on the right and a bottom bar for my blog. Because my WordPress coding, php, and css knowledge is seriously lacking, I’m still having a hard time, but working on it. Be patient with me though and I’ll get it worked out. I am happy that I got this photo up and going. It’s my favorite photograph of all time and now I’ll see it and be happy everytime I load my blog.
On the agenda so far?
#1 – I don’t like the “advertisey” feel of the boxes here on the right. I want to try just putting links up to some of my favorite blogs though – not advertising - before eliminating it all together. If I don’t like it, I’ll also try just moving it down some so it’s not at the VERY top of the side bars. So far though I can’t figure out how to replace those images though so that’s why this is top on my list.
#2 – Don’t like the way comments are set up. I think you have to look too closely to figure out where to comment.
#3 – What to put in the bottom bar? Catherine at The Blonde Diaries commented that she rarely goes to the bottom and likes to see the last posts and comments so thought I should put something else down there. So now I’m second guessing that? Opinions?
#4 – Cleaning up the sidebars. After I figure out #1 above, I’ll clean up the sidebars.
Our First Drive In
A crazy woman? Or a dedicated mom? At times, I’m not so sure which category I fall into. Last night is a perfect example. Cameron has been waiting anxiously for High School Musical 3 to come out so as soon as tickets became available online, I ordered us a set as I wanted to make sure we got seats. Then Friday morning, I got an email from a subscription service I had signed up for – a drive in movie’s schedule. Friday morning I got the email that they were showing High School Musical 3. So what did I do? I gave away our tickets to the local theater (30 minutes away), and we drove 90 miles to the drive in last night to watch our first drive in movie. Yes…three times the distance (which means we didn’t get home until almost midnight). Crazy or dedicated? I’m still not sure.
On that note though we had a blast. We snuggled in the car, cuddled under a blanket, and watched High School Musical 3. What a blast!! In fact we enjoyed it so much we’ve been recruiting other people to go see others with us sometime. It will never be a “regular” thing for us. Though getting in the movie and concessions were cheaper, the time in driving and cost of gas just isn’t feasible. We might go back with another single mom pal of mine though t osee Madagascar.
