Two topics I’ve noticed a lot lately on late night/early morning TV – especially infomercials is weight loss and debt/credit. This morning I watched one that I really enjoyed (love to watch them/rarely order) on credit repair/rebuilding and government grants. I’ve actually decided to check my library and maybe some used book sources for this book, but started doing some research myself on some of the topics the author referred to during his infomercial interview. One of those was choosing and qualifying for the right credit card(s) for you. While I don’t know if I found his answer (not buying the book from him), I do have an interesting credit card website that i thought was worth sharing – Card Hub. On Card Hub you can find and apply for a credit card. I’ve search multiple criteria and found that it is nice to search for the features that you want in a credit card. Card Hub is for sure an advantage as far as this goes. You can choose if the longterm or initial interest rate are more important. Is there a particular type card you are specifically wanting (or specifically don’t want) such as Visa, Mastercard, American Express? If so, Card Hub has a search feature for both interest and type. You also tell it how you rate your credit and if you are willing to pay an annual fee (and how much of one). Card Hub is a site that I’m going to add to my links page the next time I update.

SuperMember Status Confirmed
Yea. I’m so excited. As you know I’ve had a hard time finding the time to be online for very long or even worse on a regular schedule since we left for Disney World, but I just logged in to Sunshine Rewards (see banner/link on right side) and found out that I’ve once again made Super Member Status. This means that I’ve made over a $100 in July, August, September. Did you catch that? Already this quarter (with a month left) I’ve made over a $100…in face I’ve made $144.29 in July and August. Because of my lack of activity, I also have a lot of offers to try out in the next few days and we are low on some items that I’ve started ordering online like makeup, toiletries, and pool supplies. I think if I wake up and get back on the ball, I just might make $200 this quarter!! Looking to make some extra money for surveys, shopping, and paid offers? Check out Sunshine Rewards.
Late Nights and Little Sleep
I’ve had a hard time sleeping through the night lately. Because of that I’ve been seeing a lot of infomercials (I always think they will be boring enough to put me back to sleep) and web browsing for just different websites as at 3 AM I simply can’t do any serious surfing. While I’m physically awake, my brain isn’t enough to blog or do other important things online.
One interesting thing I’ve discovered is blepharoplasty, eyelid surgery. I’ve never even heard of such, but apparently it is a very popular form of surgery. Have you heard of it? Why did I look this up? Because a teacher that I work with was telling me about having eye surgery this summer on her drooping eyelid. I haven’t asked her yet if this is the surgery that she had, but she told me that the drooping lid was effecting her vision so actually was done for both medical and cosmetic purposes.
I found the information on eyelid surgery on IEnhance (ienhance.com) that gives you a massive amount of information for not just eyelid surgery, but also facelifts and forehead lifts. This is a reliable site that I’ve been perusing the last couple days so the bells when off and I knew I had to add this to my list of sites to share with you guys – my readers.
Hurricane Gustav
WOW!!! Planned to go visit Mom and Dad and gave up and came home!! I couldn’t get across town! It is backed up with traffic…we have a main highway (96) going through our town that had so much traffic that I couldn’t get across to get on the other side of town where my parents live. I feel so lost. I can tell I’ve been busy and not keeping up with the news! I knew that Gustav was in general might be headed our way – they reminded us yesterday to take our phone tree’s home (documents that instruct who to call who if school is cancelled or starts late), but I didn’t realize just how bad it was or how close it was scheduled to come. Not as close as some other friends, but too close for me – and I sure wasn’t expecting the high load of traffic. I actually just need some general groceries (that have nothing to do with fear of this hurricane) and I’m dreading going to the grocery store as I’ve heard they are almost sold out of everything. I am going to get up first thing in the morning to go to a nearby larger town and try to be at Kroger’s when they open. If you are out there and in the possible Gustav danger zone, hunker down, get out of dodge, be safe!!
Spiffy Updates
Spiffy…do you think that is a word? I love it whether it is or not, and that’s what I’ve been trying to do around my house – some spiffy updates. What does spiffy mean? To me it means modern, up to date, chic changes. A few months ago I made some light fixture changes…now I’m looking at making some window dressing changes to my plain curtain rods and blinds with basic valances with wrought iron and unique curtain rods as well as some outside spiffing up with garden decor from Wrought Iron Heaven.
This is one of the spiffiest stores I’ve seen for making some chic changes. They have so many unique products that it’s proving quite challenging to decide on what products I would like to purchase. So I decided to come to you – my readers – and ask your opinions.
One of the first things that caught my eye was the curtain shelf brackets. Living in such a small house with three females, I have learned to look for every way possible to save space. There are two that caught my eye: This first one is sort of “poppy” and eye catching:

And this second one is more plain (and probably fits my basic decor that I have now):

What do you think? Should I take the plunge for the more unique rod? Or go with this simple one?
Another items I’d love to have is the wrought iron sleigh bed. It’s so beautiful and would look so great in the new bedroom I dream of having one day. And even better? I was shocked to see how affordable it was.
Like these items? Check out Wrought Iron Heaven, and shhh!! Don’t tell!!! But check out this backdoor entry to some GREAT savings: Go to the homepage halfway down and click on the comma in the line that reads “Our Store now has over 1,300 home & garden items for you to choose from!”
