We love checking the mail aroudn our house because I sign us up for exchanges where we get packages. For example, right now we are part of a school supply exchange. We went shopping this past week and bought a back to school package for our exchange people, and then we’ll be receiving back to school packages from our pals. We don’t know who has our name. You reveal yourself when you send the package. Well Cameron received hers last week so as soon as we got home, we pulled out the box cutter and Cameron received the most adorable Tinkerbell Back to School package. Can’t wait to see what Becka and I receive, and we are hoping our friends like the packages we have put together.

Making Technology Upgrades
To top off being so busy lately, my online time is limited at school on my conference period because they are upgrading our network to some more reliable products as our used cisco stuff is really outdated right now. It’s weird how far behind schools are sometimes, but the good news is that once everything is replaced, we’ll have better and more reliable connections.
Ugliness
When does this start? I’m thinking maybe around the age of 8 or 9. I admit to sheltering my little girl. She spent the night last night with a friend, and the calls started about 10 this morning. I could tell something was wrong, but I wasn’t sure what was up. Finally on the last call (the 5th one), I just asked her if she was ready to come home. When she hesitated, I told her it was ok, and it didn’t matter what anyone else said. She quietly said, “yes” so I went and picked her up.
On the way home, I discover that she had been told stories – repeatedly I guess – to scare her about hitchhikers and Bloody Mary. She’s 8…barely 8. *sigh* So we chatted for a while and I know there is some danger to some hitchhikers, and I would never pick one up, I figured there wasn’t really any need to tell her the gory details. She won’t be off by herself in a position to pick up a hitchhiker for 8 more years so we talked about that they are just people that needed a ride. That if our car broke down and we needed a ride, we’d be hitchhikers. Then we talked about that Bloody Mary was just a drink. She’s better now, but I have to admit to actually being a little upset right now that her “friend” pushed and pushed and pushed until Cameron was totally freaked out!! UGH!! I’m aggravated right now.
Daddy’s Home
No, we haven’t had a Dad come into our lives, I’m referring to The Sproutwells! Check them out!
Have you ever seen such? This is a video sponsored by freshfunds.com. My favorite part? I love the mom and how she approaches the dad with the new pet announcement. I could so see myself (or my mom when I was growing up) taking this approach.

Wow! Go Mccain!!!
I’ve been really discouraged and annoyed since our election began for a new president to replace President Bush. I tend to be a natural Republican I admit, but refuse to vote Republican just because I am. In other words, I insist on voting for the person – not the party. However, since this election began, no one has really hit me as being “THE PERSON” I wanted to vote for to serve as our Commander In Chief. I do not want to turn this post into some type of big political debate, but I have to say that Sarah Palin has to be the most shocking and intriguing thing to happen to this election. I have acutally started researching her and trying to find out just who she is and what I think of her, and while I know that many do not agree with her conservative views, I have to admit that she and I seem to think a lot alike (not just alike, but more so than any other candidate thus far) and she also fascinates me as a person. She seems so real. I haven’t seen that from other candidates. McCain though I do agree with him on a lot of fronts, but he is so bland – lacking in charisma that I just had not been drawn to him. While Obama has the charisma going, I just have some fundamental problems with his beliefs and his background so I was left wondering if I even wanted to vote. But I don’t believe in NOT VOTING! That’s unacceptable. I still plan to watch the news, do some research and follow through, but nevertheless, an election with an African American and a woman on the final ticket should prove to be an interesting election.
