Miley Cyrus & Vanity Fair Photographs

The big news this morning is that Miley Cyrus is embarrased by the photographs of her appearing in an upcoming edition of Vanity Fair. Mileys says she expected a much more artistic outcome and sees these photographs as being more provocative than she imagined. Vanity Fair though is defending the pictures saying that Miley’s parents were both onset during the entire shoot, and no one ever appeared to be concerned at all.  After viewing the pictures, I have to say from an adult perspective I do not see them as being all that bad, but I do have a problem – Miley fans do not tend to be adults – they are children. And I do think they are inappropriate for my 7 year old fan to see. We have picked up a variety of magazines that aren’t necessarily geared toward children in the last year or so when they feature this young pop star as my daughter does enjoy looking through the pictures and reading the articles together, but I can assure you we will not be purchasing this issue of Vanity Fair.

I am proud though that Miley and family are making sure that the public knows immediately that they are not happy with the photography. It’s reassuring in a day when we hear of so many celebrities wild antics and sentences to drug treatment facilities, that the biggest problem this young girl has is professionally shot photography that while is not appropriate for her audience, the photos are not that bad.
