Disney Newsflash: Selena Gomez Looks to Establish Herself

Selena Gomez has quickly rose to stardom on Disney Channel. She starred opposite Miley Cyrus as Mikela, Hannah Montana’s enemy and competition, and now stars in her own show Wizards of Waverly Place. In addition, she has branched into the music career (as so many Disney stars are doing) most recently by singing Cruella DeVille for the new release of 101 Dalmations (now a ringtone on my phone).

Gomez is not limiting herself to being a Disney star. She is branching out and trying to establish herself in the acting business as more than a temporary teen star.  You can hear her voice currently in the movie Horton Hears a Who where she plays the role of all 90 of the mayor’s daughters.  She can also be seen in Another Cinderella Story opening April 4th.

Gomez recently turned down a chance to be a part of High School Musical 3. She is quoted saying, “‘High School Musical 3’ is cute, and I think it would be a great opportunity for someone else,” Gómez says. “But I passed on it because I didn’t want to do it. I plan to take other roles in acting that are challenging for me. After Disney, I want to be taken seriously as an actress for many years.”

Selena Gomez sounds like a bright young lady that we may be seeing for a very long time.

Our Easter Sunday

Well I think that our Easter Sunday has come to an end. We’ve spent the afternoon at my parents. Cameron has hunted eggs twice and hid them for Becka and Tommie twice. It’s been a real nice and relaxing day.  I’m not ready for Spring Break to end that’s for sure. Now we are sitting around watching Disney channel and I thought I’d share a couple of my favorite pictures.

Disney Newsflash: Mariah Carey Prefers Disney World

Mariah Carey is a woman after my own heart. In a recent interview with Parade magazine, Mariah Carey is qouted saying she would rather vacation in Disney World than Las Vegas. WOW! Me too!  Though my friends and family simply do not understand our love of Disney, apparently Mariah Carey does. Carey claims she will always be young at heart and thus will choose Disney. Go Mariah!

Surveys, Surveys, Surveys

Many of us are looking for ways to earn money online. My favorite way of course is through Sunshine Rewards. This is where I’ve earned the most for sure. However, another outlet that I’ve explored and found a reasonable amount of success are surveys. I always start with my Sunshine Surveys each day, but there are TONS of companies out there. Here are a few of the ones that I’ve found that seem to be the most honest (and I’ve received at least one payment from them thus far unless otherwise noted):

  • PineCone Research – this is a very exclusive survey company. To join you have to find one of their banners floating around the Internet. A good place to start is just googling for it. They are very reliable though with their payments. I qualify for about 3 surveys a month on average with them. I am paid $5 per survey, but I think I read somewhere that they pay new members $3. Payments are made after the close of each survey into your paypal account.
  • TestSpin – Testspin sends me at least 2 or 3 invites a day it seems. The email does not mean that you qualify for sure. Payments are made via Amazon gift certificates at increments of $10. I’ve been a member for about a year, and I’ve cashed out for $40 in Amazon gift codes so far (and I have $9 in my account). My luck with them seems to vary. For example, in January I qualified and completed 5 surveys, but in February only 1.
  • E-Rewards – This is a new one for me so I haven’t received a payment yet.  In less than a month my balance is $4.95.
  • KidzEyes – This one is for the kiddos (ages 6 -12). My daughter has earned $30 from them so far and she LOVES doing surveys just like Mom. My understanding is if you have multiple kids they can all sign up. In addition, sometimes they do send parent surveys and your kids get points for those. Your children can cash out in increments of $10. They come in checks written out to your child in care of you.
  • SurveySpot – I’ve been with these guys for about a year. I get TONS of invitations to them, but it seems I don’t meet the criteria on a regular basis. However, I have managed to make $36 in this time period so I can’t complain too much. You can cash out at increments of $5. They send you checks in the mail.

All of these companies send you emails when you may have a survey available. I do not login to them looking for surveys. It is nice because they do come to me. Again, I’ve not made large sums of money with these surveys, but I do receive a couple payments a month, and it all goes in my Disney fund.

These are just a few of the survey sites I visit. Watch for my next installment, and I’ll tell you about a few more. Use Buzzfuse* to easily rate, review, and share this item

What Are Your Easter Plans?

Easter is upon us and I’ve realized that we don’t even have any eggs. Now worry! I just convinced Cameron we needed to do that at Nana’s so she’s called to make sure Nana has eggs and that she boils them before we get there. :) Whew! One task down.

I did remember to buy her a new Easter dress, basket, egg color, and some goodies for her in the morning that will be in her basket.

We’ll start the day off with church in the morning and then going to my Mom’s for an Easter egg hunt exclusively for Cameron. Yes, she’s the only one left around us that’s young enough to hunt Easter eggs. Other than that, it will be a day of family time - we’ve got another weekend with my brother before he ships out. We still don’t know when he’ll leave so we are treasuring each weekend.
